I hope that’ll never be the case again though because honestly having to stream pirated content to the television, it’s just not as good and usually more complicated depending on where you’re getting it from.

Yeah I don't know how he's "imagining" that just from what's happened at all so far lol I'd love to be wrong but I just can't imagine every episode of Raw ever being available for free on YouTube. Well maybe if they stagger releases so they can make it like an event lol but that would take years
Based on trademarking Raw vault it seems. Trademarking isn’t cheap so there must be a reason for another trademark based on the vault concept.

To be fair, while it’s free for us, WWE will make money on it. But the thing also is they could easily add a YouTube membership for the raw vault channel similar to TNA and MLW so they would have to pay an additional $5 to $10 a month to get the access to the library.

But I’m sure they will also milk it with staggered releases like you said.

Well it's trademarked because they will be opening a YouTube channel named "WWE RAW Vault" that's the facts lol I actually posted it on the Raw thread bc I thought it was just that, related to Raw but not this lol I'm just clearly more pessimistic, it could easily be raw dark matches that were never broadcast on the channel and not any classic episodes

I tend to be hopeful, because I’d rather be hopeful, than be disappointed. And we know there’s gonna be a channel named that. It’s also on his tweet lol

I would hope that they’re not gonna open an entirely new channel separate from the regular vault channel just to also post single segments and matches but just from raw when the WWE vault channel is fine for that. We’ll see I guess.

TBH, this was just a possible out for the streaming services not carrying it for me, but my main hope is just Netflix isn’t too stupid to just carry it when spending godly money on just the new episodes would be stupid when you can get the whole bag for that money.

I don't really know Netflix's philosophy, but when Max started removing seasons of shows they owned (and never even released on DVD so you can't legally watch them anywhere now), I kinda gave up on streaming services maintaining archives of more niche libraries

But we'll also probably know pretty quick anyway once the raw vault uploads anything lol

I mean, that’s fucking depressing. I’ll probably start unsubscribing to services if I notice they’re doing that to stuff that I actually wanna watch because I’m not going back to paying you to watch what you’re gonna let me watch because the entire point for me for streaming services was to watch anything I wanted when I wanted. I’d rather just pay $2.99 to one of the rental services.

And yeah, that’s pretty shitty as far as like not even having them on DVD goes. I used to go to bat for not pirating anymore because generally speaking, anything you wanted to watch was on a streaming service somewhere but if you’re gonna start taking it away again then fuck it pirate everything again.

Yeah they're all going the rotating content route now with each having a few mainstay shows people subscribe to for specifically

Yeah, I hate that. That was the whole idea behind cable channels’ on demand stuff was that every month they had a curated selection that you could pick from and I’m not going back to that.

It’s honestly pretty wild that we evolved to the point of having this great idea where companies owned a service where they could put everything they owned on it and charge people a monthly fee to watch whatever they wanted and now we’re just gonna go back to it being 2005 again.

This is like apple saying we’re removing the iPhone and going back to flip phones :pour

If I didn’t already get Max completely for free, I would unsubscribe from them today knowing that they’re doing this. Shameful.

What’s interesting about Max though is I noticed they started licensing their content to outside streaming services again like Netflix so maybe HBO just doesn’t care anymore.

That's part of it, cost cutting at first and then they realized there was still demand so they'll sell em off elsewhere if anyone wants them
