Alberto Del Rio update

Alberto Del Rio did media in Puerto Rico over the weekend and said as things stand he won’t be involved in WrestleMania. He said originally he was going to work Randy Orton, then they switched it around to him being in John Laurinaitis’ team, but now he’s been told he doesn’t have a match. This could mean his spot has been given to Rey Mysterio, who is scheduled to return imminently. WWE has announced Mysterio for it’s annual WrestleMania reading challenge next weekend at the Miami Dade Public Library. In addition, he’s also advertised as part of Fan Axxess.

I hope he's involved in WM somehow. Guess Miz will be on Team Johnny now.

Don't think he will be involved in Wrestlemania at all tbh, maybe a backstage appearance/segment or promo though. Shame that he got injured as him and Randy could put on a great match.

Del Rio's spot was given to Mysterio? That makes no sense because Mysterio's a face and Del Rio's a heel. Clearly they'd be on different teams.

Surely this is bullshit. Wasn't he able to compete by the Elimination Chamber or just after it? Surely his injury isn't still keeping him out.

If this is true, there has to be a good reason why if not an injury.

Yeah the Mysterio thing makes no sense as it would not effect Del Rio unless it caused someone like the Miz to switch teams which I highly doubt.

This report looks to be true as Del Rio isn't in Team Johnny. He must not be 100% fit otherwise I am sure they would use him. Hopefully he heals up soon so that he can return to television.

Either management is mad at him, or creative are literally fucking Blue and couldn't think of a match for him at WrestleMania. Kinda silly that they based nearly the whole 2011 year on making this guy big then he doesn't have a match at WrestleMania.

He wouldn't even need to be 100% to compete at Mania in the 12 man tag. Rey, Taker, Punk wrestle injured all the time. There is something else to this story.

WWE drop the ball on this one. Last year Del Rio was in the WHC match and this year he is not even on the card? I'm sure the Miz will be on the card after he was in the main event last year.

Something is up if he couldn't have been the replacement guy for Christian and they used Drew instead. His injury must be more serious than originally thought or they simply are beginning to give up on him.

Reportedly the reason behind this is creative want him to look strong post WM so they don't want him involved in this match. Not sure if that makes much sense but we will see what happens post Mania with him.
