Alberto Del Rio is disliked by some of his WWE colleagues according to Wrestling Observer Newsletter. The report states that the heat on Del Rio is due to how he carries himself and the belief by many that his position in the company is unwarranted.

Del Rio portrays himself as a master backstage politician and struts around as a superstar. There is also a perception that he isn't as over as he should be given the amount of time he has gotten in his push by WWE. His matches and promos garner tepid reactions from the audience. However, WWE officials still favor the former WWE Champion as they feel he has superstar potential because he's bilingual, tall and has a "great movie star look." His push is also fueled by the company's need for Hispanic stars given the lack of clarity regarding the long-term futures of Rey Mysterio and Sin Cara.

In addition to this report, Del Rio made no secret of his dislike for many of his WWE peers. Last week on an interview with 95.7 FM The Game in the Bay area, Del Rio talked about not liking many of the other WWE superstars. When asked who he liked the least, the second-generation wrestler said that he hates The Miz.

"This is not part of the show. I really dislike that guy. I've tried to punch him in the face several times, not in the ring I mean outside the ring, but he's just like a little girl, he's always running away from me," Del Rio said.

"There's a big difference between The Miz and I, I'm a real athlete, he's just a loud stupid little kid. He's probably one of those guys that was bullied when he was in school, that's the reason he's now oh so loud and he wants to get attention from everybody, but in my case he's the real deal."

Del Rio capped off his Miz rant by saying that he doesn't have many female fans because "he's fat and ugly."

I'm a big fan of Del Rio and believe the guy has a great look, his promos aren't that bad and they are still entertaining to watch (for me that is) and he is easily in the top 5 for best wrestlers in the WWE. Even look at how good his selling is, especially how he sells CM Punks submission moves due to his past experience in MMA, etc.

He looked great early on, on Smackdown but WWE booking has made ADR look terrible by having him lose all his momentum by losing to Edge in the opening bout of WrestleMania which was an incredibly stupid idea considering how strong ADR looked on SmackDown before that with his Mysterio feud which was entertaining and he looked like a credible superstar who could be in the main event picture. Although, I do believe he was pushed way too hard and way too early into the WWE Championship picture. I would of left him on SmackDown and kept him in the WHC picture. Not the primary show that is RAW.
Another example of bad booking was having him lose to Cena at NOC which made him look more weak, like wtf.

So with that being said, I do think ADR could have easily been a top star if WWE didn't have crap booking, he won the Rumble and MITB but WWE failed with the aftermath of both.

Of course I could see a lot of bitter wrestlers upset watching the rise of Del Rio but most those wrestlers don't have his skill level, look or his amazing Hispanic heritage. If I was a WWE employee this is one man I'd be jealous of.

Del Rio is very credible. There's really no way he isn't when you think about the fact he is a two-time WWE Champion, 2011 Royal Rumble winner and 2011 Raw Money in the Bank winner.

Can he wrestle? Yes. Can he sell? Yes. Can he cut a promo? They're decent at best. You can't say his promos weren't boring when he was WWE Champion. Both times he held the belt his promos were bad, and really if anybody thinks otherwise then you're kidding yourself.

There's something about him when he's not WWE Champion that makes his promos decent. That's right, decent, because ever since he become WWE Champion the first time they've lost their edge. He's said the same things for a while now, but I still think he's one of the top guys on the brand regardless. He just needs to be booked better as WWE Champion and not be so one dimensional with his promos.

As for being disliked backstage, I don't think he really cares about that if he still finds himself in a good position. Too much emphasis is placed on cultural diversity within the WWE for my liking. Obviously the WWE want to branch out and become big in other countries, but they really need to work on improving every show. That should be their main priority above anything else.

Lol, why all the hate towards the Miz?

I never really got behind the guy, I just felt he was too one-dimensional, as AK said. WWE's impatience about branching out into the hispanic community may have hindered ADR rather than helped him, as he got pushed way too fast and if you do that to a guy, you make him look fucking strong. Not have him lose at WM and all that shiz. IMO, they sorta went 80-20 with ADR, and because of that 20, it hurt the guy's persona.

Pretty much my thoughts on the guy really as despite all the accolades he's been handed, the crowd still don't give a shit about him. I do agree that he has a good look though.

I've been hearing these reports about Alberto since he first arrived, I think he was already making enemies by making a fuss about not wearing a mask or something.

Even if what Alberto said about The Miz was completely legit it shouldn't hold any water, he shouldn't be throwing stones by the sound of things.

I think Del Rio has the total package. He just HAS to get over. I'm hoping WWE will give him more credibility when he returns and hopefully he can get over with the fans.

How much more can they really do? He's a former WWE Champion, a Royal Rumble winner, Money in the Bank winner and took out Mysterio twice, Christian once, and there's probably someone else.

The guy simple can't get over with the fans. Not sure why, but live crowds don't really see much in him. Then again, I don't think he's that entertaining either.

He entertains me on the stick and his matches always seem solid in my eyes. He needs some type of change to get him over. I'm not sure what it is but something big needs to happen.

That's great but the problem is he cant get a reaction from the crowd except for maybe the occasional USA chant.

The top heel of the biz right now should be Dolph Ziggler he's pretty over at the moment.

I have no doubt that there are wrestlers backstage who are jealous of Del Rio. In practically his first year he won the Royal Rumble, Money In The Bank and won the WWE title twice. Any wrestler would dream of that type of mainevent run straight after their debut.

As for Del Rio not getting over I still blame the way WWE booked him post MITB win. Before that he would get good heat and not just on Smackdown, where you never know if they are booing him or if it is fed in, but on PPVs as well. He lost almost every match after winning the MITB briefcase and so when he won the title people didn't think it was credible. Plus the way he won the title pissed off fans as well, it killed the Punk/Cena feud which was the biggest feud of the year.

I'm sure this is something ADR loses sleep over.

How could he possibly go on about his promising WWE career when so many other wrestlers are jealous of him?

Am I the only one who notices Del Rio getting pretty decent pops instead of heal heat? Look at Summerslam for example when he teamed with Miz, and I believe Truth.. When his music played at the Rumble it got a pop as well.

Maybe turning him face would work.

Usually that happens in the more defiant crowds where kayfabe doesn't play much of a role in who they cheer and boo. Plus, the fun of singing along with Ricardo is probably another factor.
