This Guy wrote I don't disagree that women tend to be forgotten more in wrestling but I beleive there is one thing to keep in mind, the two women you mentioned Trish & Lita, just retired, most of the males you mentioned have been wrestling since the 70's or 80's. Its only natural that there names are mentioned when talking legends. Other then Moolah & Sherri which women have gone to the Hall of Fame? Wendi Ricter? No. Miss Elizabeth? No. So yeah women are forgotten I agree 100% but women like Trish & Lita are still mentioned on occasion right now and like most probably will be forgoten but hopefully will be inducted into the HOF in the same era as the males they worked with ie. Triple H, Edge, the Hardy's etc.

Hello,
I do see your point that HBK and Austin were in the wwe for alot longer than Lita or Trish, but I think even if they had been, they still would not have the same recognition as those men. I bet people will remember Mysterio's cute little boy more than they will remember Lita or Trish. They'll remember that crippled teen that Lesner beat up more than they'll remember those girls.
Oh well.

And to be honest, there's divas who deserve more recognition that both Trish and Lita. You look at someone like Bull Nakano and Luna Vachon and these are the women who deserve the monkier of all time greats. These ladies could flat out go in the ring and if you saw their matches it didn't have a feel of a women's match, so I think they deserve to be talked about more than Trish or Lita.

Yes i did think Lita use to have good wrestling skills before all of her injuries. But i still think Trish is better in the ring and not because of her body. Trish always tried to have good matches with her opponent and she had some great matches with Lita and Mickie James.

In an odd way, yes. If a woman isn't as attractive as a Trish or a Lita there's only one other thing you can judge them by...their talent. The fact is Vachon and Nakano weren't lookers but most male wrestlers respect them because of their in-ring abilities... Of course there's always some exceptions becasue someone like Madusa could put on a great match and was still easy on the eyes.

Not agreeing with you on that whole madusa/attractive thing but whatever floats your boat.

Anyway, it helps, but its not necessary. Wrestling skill generally will get over. But in order for that to happen, the company needs to care about the division first.

Also, lita still sucks.

Look at Nakano, look at Luna Vachon at then look at Madusa...I meant to say that compared to the likes of those teo, she was attractive... Even though she could probably kick my ass.

As for the WWE (or Vince for that matter) caring about the women's division, I don't see that happening anytime soon.

I totally see your point, soulpower. Chyna fought with the men, didn't she? I think the Fabulous Moolah did too, but I may be wrong on the name - that might have been Mae Young.

Speaking of those two elders, you know I how see them being "honored?" As two old pieces of...."pie." They are used to gross us all out. Remember when Jericho was trying to get Trish to take him back? And he goes into the women's locker room, and he thinks Trish is in there taking a shower. But out pops a naked Mau Young - and everyone groans in disgust. But that was funny, wasn't it?

I guess if they don't mind it, then fine. You know what I just thought - remember when Randy Orton gave the "legend" Mae Young an RKO? How nice of the writers to call Mae a legend.

There used to be this woman's wrestling show called "POW" on either saturday or friday nights, at 12:00 midnight. This is in the late 80's. I used to watch it when I was in juvie. They had some really tough girls on that show, some really buff and beautiful girls. They were convincing, too, of their toughness. I hate it when you have a beautiful but frail girl (like Maria) trying to wrestle. Anyway, on POW, there was this huge, and yes, unnattractive, wrestler called Queen Kong. She was scary! But she was also a very interesting character. You liked watching her.

I hate the double standard the WWE: to get in, the women must look good; the men, on the other hand, can be anywhere from drop dead gorgous, to not so attractive. Why couldn't there be some talented, less than attractive women in the WWE? Because talent in the women's division is not the primary objective. Looking good is.

Lita's in-ring ability stretched to a few highspots that she often messed up, that was all. She wasn't a great wrestler by any means. She did however make a strong contribution to the company and should be recognised for that.

Trish was a pretty smooth wrestler, a few mistakes now and again but certainly better than any of the current crop of Women, sorry, Divas. I personally think that seeing as Wrestling is a male-dominated attraction that both Lita and Trish reached a level of popularity that many male wrestlers struggle to achieve and thats to their credit. Thats their legacy. They got over. How many of the current Divas could be considered genuinely over?

Oh, and WWE hires guys regardless of appearance? Me thinks not.You gotta have the WWE SuperStar(TM Vince) look or you ain't got much chance.

Ok......I'm probably going to get the monacher of a woman hating bigot but oh well here goes. Why is this argument turning into yet another battle of the sexes? Look.....there's a Women's division in the WWE, and a men's division. There is absolutely NO WAY, NO WAY the two should EVER eeeeeeeeever intertwine. Seriously when Chyna won the Intercontinental Title, dumbest thing ever. I'm going to catch a lot of shit for this I know it, but here goes. Do you honestly think a 130 pound woman (or hell man for that matter) would make a realistic match against someone who's say 260 pounds like Triple H, or 240 pounds of pure muscle like John Cena? I get your points, most of them. But the WWE Championship one really threw me off. That should never and will never happen for a woman. Sorry. That's what the women's division is there for. And to say that women are completely forgotten in the industry? Ok, look at the past of professional wrestling. Especially the WWE/WWF/WWWF. Over 60 years of tradition. Wrestling was started as a man's sport, therefore it has more history. Women were never a main factor, minus the likes of Sensational Sherri, Miss Elizabeth, and Fabolous Moolah. But even Liz didn't wrestle. Woman didn't move to the forefront til the late 90s when women like Lita and Trish revolutionized the Women's Division. THAT will more than likely be their legacy. So yes, they will be remembers. Have patience. It's not like we talk about Rick Rude, Curt Henning, Arn Anderson, Randy Savage, and guys like that every day. But they are still remembered are they not? And to those of you that say Trish doesn't have any talent.........is Mickie James not the top Women's talent on the roster right now? Yes. Has Mickie had an entertaining match in her entire career against anyone not named Trish Stratus? Nope! Trish might have botched moves sometimes, but at least she didn't break her freakin neck! *cough,Lita, cough* Lita had a moonsault and a solid DDT.......that's it. I don't know why everyone thought she was so great. I enjoyed what Trish could do in the ring. Her matches were at least entertaining. And she at least had charisma. The only reason Lita had one iota of charisma is because she debuted with the Hardyz.

Amen Brother R, Amen.

Seriously. If you want to see women's wrestling, don't watch the WWE, or TNA. Watch something else.

The women in either of those companies are never going to be the top consideration. The emphasis isn't on women's wrestling.

So yeah. Watch something else.

Rated R, there are some 130 pound female martial arts experts out there that could kill men. Size and muscle are no match for inner strength, especially when that inner strength can flow outward from a body that knows some very deadly moves!

For example, I remember the Rock on Letterman telling a story about how his friend got his two front teeth kicked out by somebody, and the Rock and his friends were totally pissed and wanted to go and get revenge on the guy who did it. (They were all out on the streets)
So they end up finding the guy, and the Rock takes one look at him and thinks "Easy." The guy is small, no match for the Rock -to the untrained eye, that is.
All of a sudden the Rock's buddy goes, "Ah, uh, yeah, I know that guy..you don't wanna mess with him." And the Rock goes, "Why not?" And his friend sheepishly answers that this guys is like a total master blackbelt, level 12 or whatever, and the Rock listen to this guys's martial arts title and says, "What does that mean?" And his friend goes, "Basically, it means he can deliver death." And everyone laughed. And the Rock decided that he didn't want to ruin that guy's night, and they left him alone. There was a good reason that little guy had the power to boot out a man's front teeth!

Anyway, I didn't want this thread to turn into a battle of the sexes. I am not a feminist, nor a man hater. I love sports and I have many favorite male sports stars; I love the NFL, and my favorite player of all time is Reggie White, God rest his soul. Most of my favorite sports stars are male.

Ok, then explain to me how Snitsky, Kane, or Umaga got hired. Because they could pose for Playgirl.
Me thinks not! LOL

What? If I want to see women's wrestling, don't watch the WWE?
Well I guess that answers a few questions. I guess the WWE should have a new slogan: "If you want to see woman's wrestling don't watch the WWE."

That's f*cked up. They have a women's division, women who wrestle, but if any viewers want to tune in to RAW to see women wrestle, they are wasting their time? Ok, the next time I see anybody of the female persuasion on RAW in the ring doing wrestling moves, I'll just have to slap myself to remind myself that I'm not really watching wrestling. I'll tell myself that it's all just some very extensive yoga.

More or less. The emphasis in the WWE has never been on the women's division and if you think that this is going to change at any point in the near future you're sadly mistaken.

So yeah, if you want to see women's wrestling, watch something else because you're not going to get it on the WWE. That's just the way it is.

Their either big, muscular, or both. Thats the WWE SuperStar look that Vince likes in the guys.Thats what i'm talking about. If your only talking about their face then yeah their pretty ugly. But being good looking isn't important if their big and they certainly are big. Which i guess means i agree with your point. Hmmmmmmmmm

And would anyone describe Jillian Hall as good looking? She looks like a robot.

Ok, Lita......apparently you didn't get where I was coming from. I never said don't expect to see women's wrestling at all, just don't ever expect to see like 2 or 3 matches of just women on Raw. The emphasis, as MS said, isn't there because quite frankily it isn't what the fans want to see. The major demographic is 14-35 year old males for WWE. They want to see "the big boys" going at it, and the ladies in skimpy clothing. Sorry, I know that sounds horrible, but obviously it's true. And for the black belt martial arts stuff, I obviously wasn't talking about real life situations here. In a wrestling ring you can't actually go full bore and rip someone's heart out now can you? So if you throw Trish Stratus in the ring with Umaga.......you think Trish has a chance? And that people are going to believe it? With no outside interference? Not a chance in hell. THAT is what I meant.
