Staff should never be elected by popular vote. Like with any job competence needs to go first. And the admins need to be able to trust their mods to do their duties.

Anyone could scrounge up the votes to become mod if we elected them by vote, but end up being a shit mod.

Every staff member we have now is a person that Solidus trusts to take care of and handle this site and it's community.

I'm not saying you're unqualified to be a mod, because most people can be taught how to do it well. But even you have to agree that you can be a tad erratic and a bit of a spitfire when in the mood. Which if you're a mod could bite you in the ass.

I know that I have had to reign in my mood a good couple of times and preventing myself from banning people even when wanting to.
