@StormTroomyrrh can you give us a review of your live experience please!
ASK AND YE SHALL RECEIVE MY GOOD FRIEND BLAZE!
A few general notes first:
- Great house all in all. They blocked off behind the stage, which was in closer so that like 8 sections of the 100s level were tarped off 120-128 were not used, nor were 226-240. in the spoiler is the seating chart to show what wasn't used.
- Doors opened at 6. Got on line at quarter to 6 and didn't get in the doors until 6:40. Lines to get in moved slow as fuck.
- they ran out of most of the food and a lot of other concessions. Many people were angry.
- merch lines were atrocious. Only 2 merch stands and they were stupidly relatively close to each other. People would wait 30 minutes for either merch or concessions. Thankfully I got to a food court on the lower level that wasn't crowded when I got to it and only missed one match for my meal.
- during the -1 Hour (Zero Hour before they started Zero Hour matches) they had Renee/RJ introduce Jarrett which went out to the live audience. Then after Jarrett came out we got zero audio for all of the Zero Hour. If you're gonna have them holding microphones at least give the crowd the audio.
- How in the hell did they not have Orange Cassidy on the card?
On to the matches:
- Stat/Willow... It was fun as they are 2 local ladies. The finish was botched badly unfortunately. I was confused they were fighting as they are friends. I also was actually expecting Willow joining Stokely post-match, glad it didn't happen.
- Battle Royale. A lot of fun. Butcher/Blade had a good showing in the event, which is kinda the norm for them as they seemingly always have a decent showing in Battle Royales (in losing efforts). I didn't see that the tables happened as the tables happened against the guard rail on my side of the ring. Also Rocky Romero is a typical stupid heel move turning on his opponent so that he can go 1 on 1 with fucking Killswitch of all people. Right guy won.
- I got food during the Hook match.
Main Card:
- I enjoyed the "I lost the C2" tag match. Glad they gave Garcia the pin here, and also like that Lethal ate the pin, as he lost every match in this tourney and maybe they use this to get him away from Sonjay/Jarrett and into a face turn. Fun fast paced match good choice for the opener. Feel like it was a bit of a waste of Danielson to throw him in that match instead of a featured match.
- Andrade vs. Miro was solid wrestling that had no business being on the main card. We knew Miro would win, and expected CJ to turn on Andrade as he left the company. I would have actually swapped this with the Battle Royale, or just cut it entirely and had it on the previous Dynamite or Rampage.
- Toni Storm vs. Riho: Toni's entrance was great. Then went to unload and reload my bladder during the piss break match.
- Swerve vs. Dustin: Got back mid way through the match. What I saw was fine but WAY too long. Then I heard this started with the cinder block spot on the ankle I was really annoyed. Glad Dustin got a PPV match but it didn't make sense for him to compete with Swerve, especially after the injury spot. It was a complete waste of Swerve. Thankfully got to see Prince Nana do his thing post-match.
- Jericho/Sammy/Sting/Darby vs. Takeshita/Hobbs/Bill/Starks. That happened. Crowd turned on Jericho probably because of the allegations. Not super strong here, but nice to see Sting one last time. Right team won.
- Abadon vs. Julia was what it was, nothing special. I wish Tony Khan would have shelled out the money for Living Dead Girl for Abadon isntead of the generic stuff.
- Adam Copeland vs. Christian Cage was easily match of the night. We left our seats at the conclusion of Abadon/Julia to stand at the bottom of the section, and were about 2 sections from where Adam jumped in the crowd. Tried to run over but couldn't get there. Masterful performance by 2 legends. Adam was wearing similar gear to WM 22. It was cool to see the flaming table spot, and Nick Wayne sold it great even though it botched. Killswitch giving Christian the contract was a nice twist and I'm intrigued as to what Christian has over Killswitch that keeps Killswitch from turning on Christian.
- Eddie vs. Mox. The crowd was really into it. The right guy won. Glad there was zero shenanigans and they hugged it out post-match. Didn't hear commentary but wonder how Danielson felt about that and if it will lead to a fracturing of the BCC.
- MJF vs. Samoa Joe. MJF is a legend. Hope he gets some time off to heal (before debuting the night after Mania lol kidding). I LOVE that he lost clean by passing out from the clutch. Was worried the Devil stuff would take the heat of Joe winning but that didn't happen.
- Devil Reveal: It was the right guy to be The Devil. Cole is a better heel than a babyface. It's a slight letdown that the group is Cole leading the people who have made their anti-MJF intentions known, but it's still the right move. Granted I think Wardlow feels a bit out of place with Cole/Strong/Kingdom.
Overall it was a damn fun show. Long ass night, got to the venue before 6 show ended at like 11:45. Got home 12:15. Good times with friends I haven't seen a ton. While Nassau Coliseum is a hell of a lot closer to my house than UBS I'd rather they do PPVs at UBS as it's a much better venue. The Nassau Coliseum concourse (as in 1 that's all there is) cannot handle a full house.
