Never said that. Said just because a move would've finished a match in old ECW doesn't mean it should finish match in 2021.

Yes, wrestling has evolved over the years, just like most sports have.

A part of any wrestling time period is suspending your disbelief that it is actually “real.”

But I can’t deal with someone getting hit in the back with a baseball bat and then taking a finisher and then kicking out at 2, without any delay in the pin attempt.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m still mostly enjoying AEW. Just things like this that piss me off.

But my friend says that NXT is no different?
