The first hour of Friday night's Grand Slam edition of AEW Rampage averaged 727,000 viewers on TNT, up 13.2 percent from the previous week. It's the best number the show has done in its regular time slot since August 20.
The second hour, listed separately on the cable charts, averaged 552,000 viewers, meaning the two-hour average was 640,000 viewers. That would be the lowest average number of viewers an episode of Rampage has done, but it's not a fair comparison given that the show's regular time slot is 10-11 p.m. Eastern and last Friday's episode did not conclude until midnight.
In the 18-49 demo, Rampage's first hour topped the cable charts with a 0.32 rating, up 14.3 percent from the previous week. The second hour finished in fourth place with a 0.25 rating. The two-hour average was a 0.28, the same as the previous week's one-hour episode.
The first hour of Rampage Grand Slam featured CM Punk defeating Powerhouse Hobbs. Following Punk's match against Darby Allin at All Out, this was the first time Punk has wrestled on weekly television for AEW.
Comparing the first hour to the previous week, Rampage was up with young men. In 18-49, the show increased 29.7 percent with men but fell 10.5 percent with women. In the 12-34 age group, males were up 38.5 percent while females were down 7.7 percent.
Also notable is that in every demo category, Rampage fell in the second hour with the exception of males 12-34, where the rating increased 5.6 percent from 0.18 to 0.19
