See, I don’t want the ROH title in this triple crown. I’d personally have the ROH and Strong unified instead. Or even have the IWGP US merge with it and then make it the top belt. I don’t think a continental title should be made even if it’s just unify it. But especially because I think ROH should be the main focus of the merged title.
I mean that is what they are kind of doing - just adding an extra piece of hardware to represent the winner of the tournament on top of it.
My guess is the STRONG brand is going to be fully phased out eventually and some of it will just blend with ROH. They already killed the weekly show.
IWGP US title is already dead too, it's becoming a new title at WK and being retired. So that isn't an option either.
On the flip side, I am not 100% sure this even a full time unification. It's possible that the Triple Crown itself (all titles) are defended across 3 brands. But there is nothing that says the other 2 titles can't be defended by themselves on their respective shows. I don't THINK they will do that but it's still not impossible if written well.
I understand this might feel like a downgrade to the ROH world title but that isn't the way I see it. I see it as creating an international triple crown where the ROH world title is now part of , and that triple crown will be a bigger more prestigious title, where the ROH part of it is actually its most important lineage. So from my pov, it's actually a big honor if done properly. Certainly lots of ways to look at it, though.
