Last Wednesday's Thanksgiving eve episode of AEW Dynamite averaged 898,000 viewers on TNT, down 8.7 percent from the previous week. It was the lowest audience total for the show since November 3.
In the 18-49 demo, Dynamite drew a 0.31 rating and finished sixth on the cable charts. That's down 16.2 percent from the previous week's episode and is Dynamite's lowest number in its normal time slot since May 19.
Two NBA games on ESPN took the top spots on the cable charts. The early game averaged 1.5 million viewers and drew a 0.45 in the demo, while the late game averaged 2.1 million viewers and drew a 0.68 in the demo.
Numbers were down in every age group from the previous week with the exception of people 18-34 (up five percent) and females 12-34 (up 38.5 percent). The biggest drop was in the 25-54 age group (down 20.9 percent).
This was the highest-rated Thanksgiving eve episode in Dynamite's history. As compared to the same week in 2020, Dynamite was up 26.5 percent in viewership and up 19.2 percent in 18-49. Dynamite has had double-digit increases year-over year in 18-49 every week since April 7 for shows that aired on Wednesday nights. That timing coincides with NXT's move to Tuesdays.
