So I actually ended up watching this episode of Dynamite twice. If I’m being honest, I thought that it was okay. The matches were the clear highlight of the show, with the main event being the MOTN for me. This is the match that sold me on this Jericho run, and it was actually my first time watching Bandido. I really liked him a lot and it’s gotten me wanting to see more of him, so I hope the rumours I think I heard of AEW wanting to sign him are true.
The Mox/Juice match was good, although this was my first time seeing Juice since his NXT days and I can’t say that I’m a massive fan. Apparently I misunderstood his presentation according to those in the FWA Discord, but I didn’t see him as any sort of threat to Moxley.
A couple of the segments didn’t land for me. I don’t know what the vibe is here towards the AEW women’s division but for me that Saraya promo was very rough viewing. I am actually gaining a lot more appreciation for Britt between this and the Marina Shafir promo. I can see why Britt has been positioned as the face of the division up to this point. I didn’t like Toni being a background player to all of the Saraya stuff either. The match with Deeb was alright as well, nothing special for me.
I preferred the MJF/Yuta segment this week to the one last week but Yuta unfortunately just came off like a shouting child, and without raising his voice I don’t think he was able to convey what he was trying to properly. The Ass Boys stuff at the end was weird and a bit pointless to be honest. I liked the brawl in the skybox though.
The opening segment was really fun, and I really liked the advancement of the issues between Garcia and Jericho. Garcia is on the brink of bursting into a big star, I think, and his eventual split from the JAS will boost him a lot. I’d even like it if he decides to become his own man and not take a side at all.
Fun little Acclaimed segment and the Starks match were other highlights on the show for me.
