But see that's my thing with DMs, hell any "grand" gimmick match like cage match, ladder match or the like. If they're used like it's a normal Monday night than when you're trying to build a very serious feud and conveying that the opponents feverishly hate each other it limits using those type of matches in that feud. Even though it really shouldn't.
Don't take this as me harping on DMs or how things are booked really. I get why "the old way" isn't done anymore. But I will say, imo, when those matches were a rarity feuds could just feel that much more nasty.
