I'm.sure they'll figure it out eventually , ppv still very strong numbers n a high % of TV watchers converted to ppv buyers. Attendance seems to have stabilized outside a few outliers as well. Ratings are a bummer tho. I can also relate to burnout a bit,it's been 5 years n it's hard to keep things fresh esp when ur not the young upstart fighting the petty old fuck.anymore. I do think most of their issues are fixable though n I do.like the heavy lean into sports presentation

I have been slowly drifting away from AEW for a couple of months now, maybe more. I don't even watch Rampage now that the Angelo/Ruby thing is done.

It doesn't feel as special as it used to, like it's on auto-pilot with redundant segments as far as I'm concerned. I enjoy some matches (PAC vs Claudio was a treat this week) and storylines here and there (Toni/Mariah) but I'm much more invested in Shawn's NXT and Haitch's Raw/Smackdown lately. There's more consistency week to week. Maybe that's what's happening to a lot of fans, I don't know.

I do hope AEW gets better though, I like a lot of their talents.
Pretty much exactly how I feel. I did like PAC vs Claudio and MJF vs Rush as well as the Swerve/Ospreay promo battle, but there’s a lot of stuff not grabbing me like it does for others.

I like a lot of their talents as well which is why I still watch but I do hope it gets better. I’m glad it’s entertaining to most of y’all here though.

Personally... I'd like them to rely a lot less on the babyface wins / heel is mad / heel beatdowns babyface / another babyface runs in and makes the heels flee scenario. Once a week is fine, maybe twice over the different shows... But several times a night just feels lazy.

Yeah that's a crutch he has bc it worked so well at first bc people popped for the save so hard but when you're expecting it and the save is just a good babyface not someone super hot it's like okay

Ratings discourse as posited by The Sheets is an archaic concept that isn't emblematic of how network conglomerates analyze viewership in the current landscape. Actual television reporters and insiders scoff at the notion of quarterly breakdowns in this day and age. Not only that, but in the broadscape of impressions, the fact that AEW is consistently performing at a top five level on its night of airing is much more important.

Attendance is an issue across all live event business in the US and Canada, save certain outliers. Even then, this revenue is tertiary compared to rights deals/site fees. It's not great optics. AEW has some definite creative issues and it's inability to develop young talent housed within itself is damning...but eh. Even as the business is tapering off in most markets, it's not really in jeopardy of it's main line offerings being in trouble.

Now...NJPW, that's probably a different story. Or Triple A.
