That’s what I mean though. They might’ve been foreshadowing that he wanted to win the title before he retired but he’s literally now at the end of said story. It would’ve been better if he’d won it in like March, got to have a 4 or 5 run then have a big match at all in, and then retire personally.
I also respectfully disagree that this particular story was being told. Danielson has been telling his side of the story for 3 years, but not with Swerve so much. You can tell the injuries last year changed everything. Tony most likely envisioned someone else with Danielson here. Not saying that it’s not gonna be interesting. This retirement angle has certainly spiced things up.
My point though is I agree with you. I’ll take this over him not getting one at all.
