There’s a very interesting use of the diamond ring spot where MJF is supposed to be the babyface now, and Joe is the heel so for once the referee sees him but normally that would be where the babyfaces would get the comeuppance but since Joe is the heel he uses MJF not getting to cheat as an opportunity to cheat himself.

If I wasn’t already pretty positive that Joe didn’t win this match, I might’ve bit on that because getting that lowball spot in the way they did it and then hitting a muscle buster was such a unique way to do a false finish.

MJF here is such an interesting and rare example of being able to re-create the Eddie Guerrero style babyface that does everything he did as a heel, but it’s OK now because he’s a “good guy.”
