If I may interject here, American wrestling, like most, has become a potluck of different styles in one. The kicking out of finishers and having to take multiples to win, well I agree at times is spammed too much, is a concept from Southern Wrestling, King's Road, and even Japanese and Canadian Strong Style to some degree. The idea is that is if you keep using the same move over and over on someone, then it becomes weaker to them as hey are used to the move and now the counter and all.
A good example of this is Jericho. He puts someone he has wrestled before, like Ricky Starks, in the Walls of Jericho. It is effective, but not as much since Ricky has been there before. Liontamer? Same thing. So he goes for the Lion-sault he will get a close two, as that move is done here and there, and the same for the codebreaker, if he still uses it. Then when every other finisher has failed, then he uses The Judas Effect and wins. As I said, this is all just old Japanese wrestling stuff and the idea of killing the fighting spirit. This has also been my two sense, so feel free to say I am wrong.
