Wednesday night's episode of AEW Dynamite averaged 872,000 viewers on TNT, up 1.3 percent from last week. It's still the second-lowest audience for the show since July 7.
In the 18-49 demo, Dynamite finished fifth on the cable charts with a 0.33 rating. That's up 6.5 percent from last week and is the show's best rating in the demo since November 17.
The main competition for Dynamite, as usual, was NBA basketball on ESPN. The early game, which started just before Dynamite and ran head-to-head for the entirety of the show, averaged 1.26 million viewers and a 0.45 rating in the 18-49 demo.
Looking at the individual age groups, Dynamite was up in most categories but down 11.1 percent with males 12-34 and down 5.6 percent in people 18-34. The biggest increase was with females 12-34, where the show was up 10 percent.
As compared to this week in 2020, Dynamite was down 12.4 percent in overall viewers and down 26.7 percent in the key demo. Last year's episode came the week after Kenny Omega's AEW World Championship win and Sting's debut at Winter is Coming, so it did better in the ratings than usual.
That being said, it's the second straight week Dynamite has had a 20 percent decline year-over-year in the demo. The show recently had a stretch where 19 out of 20 weeks had a year-over-year increase.
Listed below are the last 11 weeks of ratings for TNT airings of Dynamite, along with the 10-week averages prior to this week. This week's show was down 14.1 percent in viewers and down 13.2 percent in 18-49.
