Honestly I think MJF is more the problem than anyone in it. Some isn't his fault bc he was off filming I'll give him though.

But when he turned heel again he mostly just went right back to the same character as before, outside of like one of two promos explaining the turn, he didn't really add a layer of Cole betraying him to make him a more jaded guy, he's just back to being rich asshole.

And that's left Cole with very little to work with as far as a villain for the reasons Roy said. On paper I would have thought returning Cole as a face was the right move and doing the feud the opposite way was fine, I just think it hasn't been executed as well

He had life left as a face and this feud would of been better if he didn’t strong arm his way to be a heel again.

I agree there was legs left as a face too but I'm not that annoyed at the heel turn as I am that it's the same heel character with no added tweaks

Turning on Garcia and the booking didn't do anyone any favors so I can't disagree in hindsight at all but at the time I can't say I thought it was a terrible switch if that makes sense lol

I think the issue is when MJF returned they were a bit lacking heels but since turning back he has not been anyway as compelling as Page or Mox (and even mox has been as good as it could have been)

There’s been no evolution to him at all. He’s become complacent, but this feud def should of had him still be a face cuz it’s a cluster fuck of a feud now
