This is literally what I said. I don’t think that wwe and punk should be talking about AEW during wrestlemania weekend. It’s a very backwards way to go about trying to promote your product when it’s like supposed to be the show of the year but the same time AEW should be above needing to hit him back so to speak but it is what it is. Don’t mind the jokes and the jabs, though. Especially the ones that build up the angle with Perry or Ospreay just getting some of his heat back from the hunter remarks. No worries.
I saw someone else mention that Hunter probably got a kick out of the story anyway and I think they’re right he’s not gonna take this personally and he shouldn’t.
It happened pretty much the way he describes. His exact words were nobody was punched and nobody was. They had some kind of discussion we don’t get to hear the audio, so no idea what was said, but it looks heated on both sides punk pushes him and then puts him in a bit of a choke. They’re separated, and punk lunges at him, but nothing comes of it. I think the main thing punk was trying to get across was that he was denying the rumors that he tried to punch Tony which doesn’t seem like it ever happened. Looks like he just points at him and says I quit or whatever it was that he was talking about on the interview.
After everything it’s pretty much an amalgam of what both punk said, and the reports were saying. Punk never really flat out denied the reported version of events. It’s not like the brawl out one where they they had these like ranging stories.
Hopefully, now we can all move on from these things. Hopefully Perry can come in. Have a nice little heel run and hopefully this builds up the tag title match fairly well.
