Sort of but boxing has a lineal champion and since Punk was stripped of the title and not defeated for it, he would have a legitimate claim to being the AEW lineal champion.

Only big difference is that in boxing, you can only become lineal champion by defeating the lineal champion or unifying all the major belts. To be the lineal wrestling champion, I cannot even imagine how many belts you would have to win.

But I agree, it's a step toward a brand split.

Compounding on this, by Tony’s own precedent, Punk is the lineal world champion and MJF is the interim champion. Punk is owed his unification.

Which I’m hoping and praying is in Chicago when I’m there live and in person for All Out.

I guess I should have read this before talking about lineal champions.

Sort of, using AEW and precedent Ricky’s first win was an eliminator which means that he now get this actual title shot for the lineal belt this Saturday.

However, if you follow AEW tradition and precedent specifically the first match with a Champion is an eliminator match and if you win the match, then you get a title shot.

I’m going to try and find away to have my chromebook playing this, while SummerSlam is up on my tv, and I use my laptop to use the chat.

I’d use my laptop but whenever I use a pop out player, it just slows everything down for me. But I’m gonna try to make this tonight. It just if I can only do one, it’s a bit easier to do SummerSlam first, because once collision is over I’d have to wait til SummerSlam ended to even watch it because of how Peacock is. I can start Collision right after SummerSlam ends and have both watched tonight. But let’s see how great I can do, doing both and being in both chats and not posting in the wrong one lmao
