As someone who obviously loves punk, but decided to stick with and side with AEW when they fired him and went to Chicago even afterwards to watch all out and have continued to watch the weekly TVs and has been ordering the pay-per-views and was looking forward to watching dynasty next week and even watched collision last night after already watching seven hours of wrestlemania, I have to agree with Hoss. This just feels like we’re going to be stuck in 2022 forever.
The vast majority of the Internet reaction to that CM punk interview was negativity on him. He came off by most people, with the exception of the people that already really hated AEW, came off, looking unhinged and an idiot and there’s really no reason in my opinion for AEW to give it as much attention as they have. I’m not even saying that they couldn’t still have had Adam come out to say AEW is great and hype up the Perry return with jabs at Punk saying they love his work, but realistically it should have ended there. Unless they’re really doing a bait and switch and it’s just gonna be a funny comedy skit, which I’d be actually fine with. I don’t see how this isn’t just going to further the divide by literally airing the footage. I really hope they’re not doing that. And like Hoss said, this seems to be getting the same eye rolling that Punk did. AEW should take the high road and build on what AEW is doing so well right now, imo.
Instead of airing the footage on AEW TV, the Bucks should ask to go on an interview and just talk about All Out 2022 and All In 2023 and get the whole thing out there from their side to keep it fair and then AEW itself should never talk about it again.
If this is just a skit where BTE guys reenact everything, forget I said anything because that’s funny and it does seem obvious now Perry is returning. He was doing Punk stuff in his last match.
Anyways, that’s my piece on this. I’m just ready to move on as someone trying to watch both. Wrestlemania night 2 about to be lit!
