Mox's mic work during the Punk feud and on the post-All Out Dynamite was God level
I personally thought he outduelled punky in a rare win but close battle.

Nick Hausman spoke more about the story. The following bullet points are from reddit.

- Hausman said that Punk reached out and apologized to him the day after the scrum. Hausman told this to Dave Meltzer off the record, which Meltzer reported anyway.

-Hausman messaged back and forth with Punk that day and said there was no heat between them. When Cabana and Hausman were still friends, Punk would go to their improv shows and support. Punk wasn't aware that Hausman and Cabana had a falling out and was still under the impression that they were still friends. Hausman was surprised to hear from Punk the next day because Hausman said that Punk didn't need to do that.

- He talked to Punk's camp this week and got a lot more information than he was expecting. He said it seemed reasonable that the dog story could be true but it had only come out now because Punk didn't find out about the loose teeth until well after the story of what happened started getting out. He said the dog story filled in some gaps as to why things got violent quickly on Punk's end. He said that Punk's team didn't reach out to him to get the story out, he reached out to them.

- Hausman was a little skeptical of the third party investigation. Says he would like to know who was interviewed. Says Punk didn't do himself any favors but also that there was very little communication between the investigators and Punk's camp.

- He said he doesn't know anything about the buy-out, but it doesn't sound like Punk is coming back. He said he thinks he got a lot of information from Punk's side because he felt like there was a lot of resentment from Punk's camp about how one-sided the information that was getting out was.

- Hausman doesn't think Punk will ever wrestle again, but does see a lot of parallels between Punk and Cody so nothing is impossible. He says that Cody was alienated and rumors were spread about him in the locker room by the Elite which made Cody want to leave and go back to WWE so he could see the same with Punk.

Colt Cabana's appearance on Dynamite is being considered a "morale booster" for the AEW locker room.

It was his first match on Dynamite since losing to Bryan Danielson on the November 24, 2021, episode, although he continued to appear on Dark and Dark: Elevation until March.

The decision for Cabana to be Chris Jericho's mystery opponent was addressed by our own Dave Meltzer in Friday's edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

"Cabana appearing led to even more talk because people saw it as a shot at Punk or a vindication of the story that Cabana stopped being used in AEW due to Punk. Whatever it was, it was Tony Khan’s idea," Meltzer wrote.

"We were told that this was more for the locker room than anything else, that having Cabana on the show and given a positive spotlight after months of being ostracized for reasons that had nothing to do with him was a dressing room morale booster since he had many friends there."

Cabana was originally hired as an agent and had been producing matches for Dark and Dark: Elevation while also performing on-screen as a member of The Dark Order. He left for Australia to perform as The Brooklyn Brawler in the "Young Rock" series and when he returned, AEW stopped using him. It was around this same time that the company hired Ace Steel.

Cabana's contract was set to expire this summer but he was given a new deal to work ROH for the same money he had been earning before.

"As best we can tell, Cabana was only in for that one match but is still under contract to ROH, but is no longer ostracized and could be used again in some form," Meltzer continued.

oh hey I was about to post stuff here too!

Speaking on his Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast with Jon Alba, Matt commented on the potential return of The Elite.

"It's going to be very interesting to see The Elite back, the Young Bucks and Kenny Omega. I'm very happy they are back. I will say this right here and right now, those guys didn't do anything wrong in this situation. If anything, they were the victims. I'm telling you that from a first person perspective. I was there, I witnessed it all. I love all three of those guys. I've known Matt and Nick forever. I've just gotten to know Kenny while working with AEW. I'm very happy they are returning to TV and they are back in the mix. They deserve to be in the mix," he said.

The altercation between The Elite, Punk, and Steel stemmed from comments made by Punk during his media scrum after the event. All parties were suspended after the incident. Steel was eventually fired for his involvement, which allegedly included biting and throwing a chair, while the future of Punk isn't currently unknown.

"When I saw them yesterday, I said, 'It's so good to see you guys. You guys are the heart and soul of AEW.' The Elite, in many ways, are the identity of AEW. Without those guys, you don't have AEW as it is right now. Things are very different. Tony Khan may have started wrestling in some capacity, but All Elite Wrestling, those guys are the identity of AEW. It's very important to have them back," said Hardy.

Along with the impending return of The Elite, Colt Cabana returned to AEW television on Wednesday, challenging Chris Jericho for the ROH Championship. Cabana had been off AEW TV for months with reports that Punk joining the company was the reason for his absence. Tony Khan previously said Punk had nothing to do with Cabana moving to ROH.

Speaking about Cabana's return, Hardy said, "I was excited for it. It was great. Colt Cabana has been away from AEW for a very long time. It is what it is, I don't have to sit here and go into things, but we're in a position right now where he can be back at AEW TV and I'm glad to have him back."

Hardy closed by saying, "I feel the investigation has happened and I'm glad their names have been cleared and they are coming back to TV and I'm happy to see Colt Cabana, who I think is a great human being and performer, I'm happy to see back on AEW programming."

It is unknown when The Elite will officially return to AEW television. Death Triangle (PAC, Rey Fenix, and Penta El Zero Miedo) are the reigning AEW Trios Champions.
