the main issue with Fulham, from what I understood was availability. It gets booked up quickly once football starts and that starts early august iirc

Something about it being located in a residential neighborhood made it more of a pain to run too I think I was hearing? That's what I meant by a variety of factors lol just didn't seem practical to do it even if it's Tony's own damn stadium lol

it is weird but ya, makes sense that all adds up. and if Dave is to be believed, rent was super cheap relatively speaking, they gonna make a fucking killing

Maybe but they also might have cheaper prices for this show to make sure it fills. I think the recent big AEW shows had to have higher prices bc they're touting these million dollar gates which I'm sure are true but attendance is similar to previous years so I'm just doing math lol either way should be their highest gate ever, just not sure how much higher

Wasn't rhat a big complaint about Clash last year was high ticket prices? I think they came down closer to the show but I remember people being like wtf at first. They might want to avoid that bc I'm sure a lot of people might not check back to see if they've lowered prices if they're initially too high

this year, for sure, but i felt fd1 was pretty cheap. prices def gone up this year though, but still nowhere near WWE's crazy prices, especially overseas

it was exactly this. they had 57k preregistrations but out of those only about half ordered that tday (it filled up later) because they priced out a lot of people. I don't think that will be the case with AEW at all, in fact I expect the opposite for the cheap cheats because they want that visual

current report is it'll be 30 pounds for the cheapest tickets
edit: i am assuming thats before the ticketmaster price gauge though, so maybe like 50

Especially if it's not a PPV but a TV or streaming deal, if you're gonna have new eyes on the product you want to make sure that visual is as impressive as possible to make more money in the long run than to specifically maximize profits for this show

This will surpass WCW’s largest crowd of 41,472 for the Georgia Dome Nitro and will be the largest crowd for a US based promotion’s show that’s not from WWE

@Hayterade i know u like these types of stats
I think this is like the last metric that AEW can hit to eliminate the narrative that they’re not mainstream or competion. If they can consistently get the highest buys on PPV since WCW, sell out weekly venues and then break the non-WWE attendance record, AEW is officially in the game. They’re not an independent.
