Tilting my head back and forth, I'm in a dark room... Water is dripping rapidly from the ceiling.

NO! PUNISHMENT ISN'T ENOUGH, FOR I HAVE BEEN SEVERED, I LUNGE FOR EVERYTHING I'VE SEEN!

Nothing will stop the thoughts that rapidly fire around in my mind... The room is dark, exactly how I want it to be... but I'm interrupted by a knock on the door.

Thomas: Drew! Open the door man! It's me Thomas.

*BANG*

I kick the door hard, I hear a puddle plop.

Thomas: Fuck sake! What was that for? Now I'm all wet!

My tone of voice isn't what it normally is...

IT WAS ALREADY WET!

Thomas: What's gotten to your mind? You're going insane. It's sunny.

WHAT SUN? IT'S NIGHT. MAY DARKNESS LIVE WITHIN YOUR SOUL!

Thomas: What darkness? What are you on about?

With that final word there... I drag Thomas into my cabin where it's dark. I begin laughing, Thomas lets out a small whimper.

WHAT IS THERE TO BE AFRAID OF? IS IT THE MENTALITY OF THE ROOM THAT'S CAPTURED YOUR MIND... OH WHY YES! YOU TOO WILL SUFFER!

Thomas: Suffer what... I haven't done shit to you man. I came to see if you wan-

Thomas unable to finish his sentence begins coughing and gagging as if he's choked. I leave the room, I head outside where the sun brightens me. My black hoodie is good enough to be used, I cover it over so my eyes don't get blurred from the sun being so damn bright.

I AM THE SHADOW OF THE NIGHT... THE PAIN I SUFFER... IT WILL LIVE ON UNTIL THE DAY I DIE!

The words I scream out, little kids are nearby with their parents... They quickly hoddle and rush off into disappearance. Nor do I have a clue why... My mind is over-controlling me, this is how I live and there's nothing... Absolutely nothing anybody can do. I've seen doctors and such and it still won't resolve my issue with the outside world. I walk into a bar..

Female Bartender: Hey Drew, what should I serve you today?

Drew Alexander: Something of a rare breed... something that will knock my mind out of the world.

Female Bartender: Uh? You alright man?

Drew Alexander: I honestly don't know... Everything is dark. I cannot handle these bright lights, please dim them...

The female bartender turns the light to a dim. A male playing billiards comes up to me...

Male: The fuck is your problem? You walk in here and want the lights off, how the hell can I play pool?

Drew Alexander: How the hell do you live with all the bright? Do you fail to think of those without electricity in the third world? You'll live prick...

Male: What did you just call me?

Drew Alexander: Oh... The wax in your ear isn't out yet... I SAID YOU WILL SUFFER A NOTORIOUS DEATH YOU FUCKING ASSHOLE!Female Bartender: Steve, just leave my mate Drew alone alright? Fuck.

Steve: So I'm going to die? Is that a threat? Mate, try stab me and see what happens... I've got all my mates by the pool table.

Drew Alexander: Clearly you're a waste of time looking for a fight. I'm not going to fight you... Instead I'm going to give you tickets...

Steve: Tickets for what? The gay parade?

Drew Alexander: My brother who died was gay. Do you have a problem with homosexuality do you? The tickets I will give you are for this Sunday's ACW. Alternative Championship Wrestling. I'm a wrestler, I'll be in the main event hoping to capture my true dream... AND THEN THE WORLD WILL SUFFER!Steve: I apologize for going off at you... I don't want no troubles... We'll be there. Oi fellas, this guy's alright.

Female Bartender:
Thanks Steve. Drew... I didn't know you wrestled... What gives?

Drew Alexander: Everything I've lost... Everything... My rage is uncomplete, I must fulfill my destiny in order to be a changed man. Nothing will change the way I am until I get what I want, until I prove the world that I was never defeated. I want to prove everyone that no matter how hard my problems are I can overcome them... However people make it hard every day, almost like I'm feeling defeat but I will not bow down to them.

Female Bartender: Sorry to hear about what happened in the past... Can I come on Sunday?

Drew Alexander: I suppose you can Tanya but let me assure you... It's no pretty sight. I have to go...

I leave the bar... I walk outside... Everything becomes black, a gunshot is heard...

The scene opened up with Syn walking into the building where ACW’s final house show before the Overdrive Pay-Per-View will be hosted, a dark purple hoodie covering most of his features as he walked down a hallway that led to his dressing room. But before he could make the walk, he noticed Ashley Sparxxx making her way towards him with a look of nervousness on her face. Syn gave no outward change of emotion as she gave him an uneasy look and started speaking.

Ashley Sparxxx: Um….Phoenix told all staff members to notify you that when you arrive to the building, you are to immediately report to her office.

Syn stared at her for a moment, before giving a small sneer and Turning on his heel to walk to Phoenix’s office. Syn made the long walk to the other side of the building, before he stopped at Phoenix’s door. Rather than knocking, Syn opened the door and walked right in, drawing Phoenix’s attention. The two looked at eachother for a moment, before Syn walked over to the chair and sat down, calmly waiting for the talking to begin.

Phoenix: Well Syn, for once, you coming to my office isn’t stemming from you doing something that is punishable.

Syn rose a brow at this, obviously a bit skeptical.

Syn: Pardon me if I find that just a bit hard to believe, but that’s usually the only reason you ever have any reason to call me here. (Syn gives her a sarcastic sneer) Does this mean I don’t get to hear the screaming and periodical threats of termination that I’ve come to grow fond of out of you?

Phoenix didn’t acknowledge the sarcastic remark and continued on.

Phoenix: The reasons I called you here are to remind you that you are still on behavioral probation due to your attack on the stagehand last month, so with that in mind I expect to see you at the press conference for the Pay-Per-View in a few days. (Syn gave no outward show of emotion to this, so she continued) The other reason pertains to your match tonight.

Phoenix pause as she noticed Syn shift slightly, giving her his full attention.

Phoenix: Instead of facing someone who is on the roster, I want you to face a wrestling prospect that I have been scouting for the last few months. The kid has gotten rave reviews everywhere he went and is being called one of the best technical wrestlers of this generation; I want one of the more capable wrestlers on the roster to test him out.

Syn thought on it for a moment, weighing in on accepting the match. This person, for whatever reason, sounded very familiar to him, and if he was as good as advertised, he would test Syn to see if his skills were up to par for the World Title match. Syn finally turned to look at Phoenix and gave his answer.

Syn: Very well, I’ll see if he is worthy of your attention. Is that all?

Phoenix gave Syn a slight look of surprise for his cooperation and lack of defiance that she had come to expect from him over the last few months.

Phoenix: Yes, but I’m honestly a bit surprised that you’ve actually behaving properly considering your history. (Phoenix pauses, then gives Syn a smirk) I wonder what the reason for that is.

Syn gave her a blank stare, before leaning sideways and placing his legs on the armrest of the chair he was in.

Syn: If you think it has anything to do with you, My Dear, then you’re sadly mistaken. (Syn gave Phoenix a small smirk, causing her to frown) Although the ending to your little interview was much better than I thought it would be, but that’s another story for another time. Now, if we’re done here, I think I’ll take my leave.

Syn abruptly stood up, before he turned and left the office and prepare for his match.

------------------------------------------------------------------- (30 Minutes Later) ----------------------------------------------------

Ashley Sparxxx: The following contest is scheduled for one fall, and is a special attraction match! Introducing first, the Special Guest Referee, John McHenry!

John, who was already in the ring, gave a smug smile as the crowd gave him a very loud mixed reaction. Suddenly, the arena darkens and the crowd erupts as “Duality†by Slipknot plays, signaling Syn’s arrival. The lights come back up moments later and the crowd grows louder as Syn sits in the middle of the isle way, a very dark smile on his face.

Ashley Sparxxx: Introducing first, weighing in at 216 pounds, Syn!

He stands up straight and slowly walks down to the ring with his hands clasped behind his back. He creeps up the steel steps and enters the ring, then sits Indian style in the middle of the ring as he doesn’t spare McHenry a second glance as he awaits his “Mystery Opponentâ€.

The arena is silent for a few moments, before “Whatever†By Our Lady Peace plays, causing the crowd to explode and Syn’s calm look to change into one of rare shock as his brother walks onto the stage, causing the pop from the crowd to increase 10 fold! Even Ashley and McHenry looked surprised as Ashley made the introduction.

Ashley Sparxxx: And his opponent, weighing in at 209 pounds, Kai!

Kai looks around at the crowd intently, before quickly walking down the aisle to the ring. He walked up the steel steps and entered through the middle ropes. Syn, who by now had gotten to his feet, was still looking at Kai in surprise as his brother gave him a small smile as McHenry rung the bell and started the match. The two continue to stare down for a moment, before Syn smiles and extends his fist. Kai smirked and bumped fists with Syn, before both men start to circle eachother. They lock up in the middle of the ring, before Syn gets the better of the exchange, wrenching on the wrist and arm of Kai.

Kai grunts in pain and tries to fight out of the hold, before he manages to get to the ropes for the break. Syn slowly lets go and Kai glares at him as he wags his finger mockingly at him. Kai lets go of the ropes and locks back up with Syn and this time he gets the advantage with the side headlock. Syn tries to fight out of it, but Kai rolls over with a headlock takeover. The ref sees that Syn's shoulders are on the mat and goes for to make the pin!

One...

Tw-Syn rolls back over into the side headlock and breaks the pin!

Syn’s shoulders are on the mat again and the ref goes for the pin, but Syn gets the shoulder up before the one count. Syn’s shoulder goes back down to the mat and the ref goes to make the count again, and again Syn gets the shoulder up before the one count. Syn finally manages to fight back to his feet and sends Kai to the ropes, then drops him with a big shoulder knockdown on the return. He bounces off the ropes and leapfrogs over Kai, and Kai catches him with an armdrag takedown! Both men get back to their feet and charge at eachother, and Syn catches Kai with an armdrag of his own! Both men get back to their feet and stare down as the crowd applauds the exchange.

The two lock up again, and Kai again gets the advantage with a side headlock. Syn tries to counter out of it, and Kai takes him down with another headlock takeover. Syn struggles for a moment, before throwing his legs up and managing to wrap them around Kai's neck, breaking the hold. Kai kipped up to break this hold and both men scrambled to their feet. Kai charges at Syn, and gets caught coming in with a Japanese Armdrag! Syn keeps on the attack, stomping at Kai’s left arm, before yanking Kai back to his feet. Syn locks Kai in a hammerlock and lifts him high, before dropping him on his head and arm with a modified backdrop suplex! He quickly goes into a cover.

One…

Tw-Kickout at two by Kai!

Syn brought Kai back to his feet by his arm and locks in a wristlock, keeping his focus on the injured left arm. Syn goes for an Irish whip, but Kai counters and yanks Syn in close – Capture Suplex, sending Syn flying half-way across the ring! Syn staggers back to his feet and into a corner, before Kai charges over and begins laying into his older brother with the knees to the body. Kai headbutts Syn, before rearing back and hitting him with a hard knife-edge chop! Syn slumps in the corner after the shot, and Kai drags him back to his feet and hits him with another hard chop! He grabs Syn by the arm yanks him into a Short Arm Clothesline, before dropping down into a pin.

Two…

Thr-Syn kicks out!

Kai doesn’t miss a beat, picking Syn up to his feet, before sending him back down to the ground with a stiff headbutt. Kai lifts Syn back up to his feet and whips him to the ropes –Syn ducks under the clothesline, but gets caught coming back in by a spin kick to the midsection from Kai! Kai bounced off the ropes – Syn catches him coming in with a dropkick right on the jaw! Syn then goes to pick Kai up, but Kai nails him with a right hand, forcing him to let go and stumble backwards. He gets behind Syn and goes for a German Suplex, but Syn blocks it. Kai goes for it again, but Syn counters it with a Snapmare takeover. Kai gets back to his feet, and gets dropped back down with a dropkick from Syn. He picks Kai back up and forearms him in the face, before bouncing off of the ropes and dropping him with a hard Lariat! Syn goes out onto the ring apron and springboards back in as Kai staggers to his feet – Syn went for the Hurricanranna, but Kai countered it and is trying to turn Syn over for the Cloverleaf! He manages to get Syn onto his stomach, then drops down to one knee and places the other in Syn’s lower back as he locks it in!

Syn hissed in pain and clawed at the mat, trying desperately to get to the ropes! Syn slammed his fist down onto the mat as he tried to turn on his side and find a way out of the submission hold – Syn managed to turn it into a small package!

One…

Two…

Thr – Kai kicks out!

Both men scramble to their feet and Kai charges at Syn, and Syn ducks under the attempt and leaps towards the ropes – Springboard Tornado DDT by Syn! Both men are down and McHenry starts the count.

Kai made it back to his feet and goes for a right hand, but Syn blocks it and get Kai with a forearm shot to the face! Syn bounced off the ropes – Spinning Wheel Kick! He waits for Kai to get back to his feet, before kicking him in the midsection and lifting him up and dropping Kai stomach first onto the top rope. Syn bounces off the ropes – Dropkick to the head, bringing Kai back into the ring the hard way! He pulls Kai to the center of the ring and goes for the pin.

One…

Two…

Thre-Kai kicks out right before the two count!

Syn picks Kai up and nails hi with a forearm to the jaw, sending him back down to a knee. Syn gets him back to a vertical base, and again sends him back down with a forearm to the face. Syn goes for it a third time – Kai reverses and gets behind Syn – German Suplex! Kai keeps his hands clasped as he rolls himself and Syn back to a standing position – a second German Suplex! Kai rolls himself and Syn back to a standing position and goes for a third German – Syn blocks it! Kai goes for it again – Syn counters for the go behind – German Supl-NO! Kai rolls through and sends Syn through the ropes and out to the floor! Kai waits silently for Syn to get back to his feet as the crowd cheers him on – Kai suddenly sprints towards the ropes and dives through them -Suicida Elbow Smash, sending himself and Syn crashing straight into the guard rail! The crowd is going crazy as both men struggle to stand!

Kai gets back to his feet first, and grabs Syn by the hair as he pulls him up – Kai sends Syn spine first into the ring apron! Syn slumps down to the ground in pain as Kai takes back control of this matchup. Kai rolls Syn back into the ring and goes for the pin.

One…

Two…

Thr-Syn gets the shoulder up!

Kai gives his brother a look of frustration, before shakily making it back to his feet and waits as Syn gets to his knees, before hitting him with a stiff kick straight to the chest. He brings his leg back, and hits him again with another hard kick. Kai hits Syn with two more kicks, before going for a buzzsaw kick – Syn ducks the kick and springs back to his feet – High Angle Backbreaker! Syn looked towards the nearest turnbuckle and starts to climb, thinking Falling into Chaos, when all of a sudden, Christopher Flair jumps the guard railing and leaps up onto the ring apron; sending Syn flying off the top rope and crashing to the canvas! McHenry calls for the bell and throws the match out as Flair escapes through the crowd. Syn managed to crawl over to the ropes and tried to pull himself up, a murderous look on his face as Ashley made the announcement.

Ashley Sparxxx: Ladies & gentlemen, your winner of this match as a result of disqualification, Syn!

The fans let their opinions be known by booing the decision loudly and starting a “Bullshit!†chant as Syn walked right over to McHenry and started talking to him, calmly asking to re-start the match. McHenry denied Syn’s request and left the ring, shouting at Syn as he was exiting that the decision was final. Syn was left stewing in the ring over the outcome of this match as the scene fades out.

------------------------------------------------------- (10 minutes Later) --------------------------------------------------------------

The scene opens back up with Syn stalking around backstage, holding his Tire Iron with a crazed look on his face as he searched for Flair. The stagehands all scattered as he walked from area to area, looking for the World Heavyweight Champion. Syn turned around one corner, and stopped at the sight before him: It was Phoenix, swarmed with Security Guards. Syn stood his ground as the owner of the company started to speak.

Phoenix: Syn, I know you’re upset over Flair’s actions, but I can’t let you do anything that might jeopardize the Pay-Per-View or The Triple Threat Match.

Rather than get anger, Syn just lets out an insane laughter, shaking his head in apparent amusement.

Syn: Phoenix, Phoenix, Phoenix, I don’t think you quite understand my mindset at the moment, so let me explain it to you (Syn abruptly stopped laughing): I. Don’t. CARE about your Pay-Per-View. I don’t care about the worthless 15 pound hunk of gold Flair parades around with. I don’t care if you decide to fire me at this very moment. The only thing that I care about right now is his blood coating my hands and the life slowly fading from his eyes as I extinguish it.

Syn took a step forward, and Security did as well as Phoenix continued to try and calm Syn down.

Phoenix: Syn, think about what you’re about to do –

Syn cut her off as he mockingly looked as if he was thinking it over.

Syn: Hmm…nope, I still want to hurt him. So if you’ll kindly step aside –

Syn took another step forward, and that was all security needed to try and swarm him! Syn ducked, dodged, and swung his Tire Iron at anything that came near him as he tried to get past them! He managed to slip past them in the chaos and made it to Flair’s dressing room, only to find it empty. Syn looked around, a look of fury on his face as he realized that Flair had given him the slip. Syn stood in the doorway seething as the camera faded to black.

A man lies unconcious in the middle of the road, the cameras resume after the gunshot was heard... It is I that put the camera on... I look at the man who's gunned down and I realise it was the man with a camera. The man who shot him doesn't move but instead yells out to me.

Gunman: You...

I look up to the gunman, he takes off his balaclava.

Gunman: I guess you know why I did this now...

I realise who the gunman is, a very old friend of mine... Why are people coming back into my life? Why are people killing one another, what's to prove here? So many thoughts in my mind once again.

Drew Alexander: Paul, why the sudden return?

Paul: The world is slowly crumbling down isn't it Drew? Everything has been taken away from us... EVERYTHING. There is nothing in this world left for us... Even this small town is empty, not one car is heard... Nothing.

Drew Alexander: But this doesn't rectify why you've returned here... I want to know what the deal is here Paul. You gunned a man down, nobody is around and I'm really confused. I'm trying my hardest to move on from everything and you come back, gun that man down and raise emotions to flow around my mind again. I do not want to be insane again... I have nightmares Paul. There is nothing that can save my mind.

Paul: I returned because after I cleansed out this very town whilst you were gone... I returned to see you. Everyone has been talking in the big smoky city if you're going to be there for the interview, for your fight. I knew where to find you.

Drew Alexander: I haven't got petrol in my car or any means of transportation to get to the big smoky city... I suppose I could steal a car seeing nobody is even in this small town.

Without thinking, I see the nearest car with it's door open. I walk towards it and I notice the keys are inside. Well... I better head off to the big smoky city!

----------------------------------------------------------------

SCENE TWO: THE BIG SMOKY CITY

And now I've arrived, I cannot believe how big this city is. I don't think I've seen such a big city before, there's a hall with a big red carpet... ACW logo on the front. I'm assuming I'm to be here... Well I step out of the car not looking very fashionable...

Security Guard: Sorry, you cannot go through. This is the interview for ACW Superstars only.

Drew Alexander: Are you kidding me, I'm in a championship shot this weekend!

Security Guard: You might be big and a wanabee but you cannot come through. Please leave.

Is this some kind of sick joke? I've just traveled three hours just to get here and I can't even be allowed in?! I grab Paul's phone and begin dialling...

2 3 1 1 4 5 3 5 3 2 5 0 9

*Ring Ring*

You've reached ACW Headquarters, I'm Sandy, how may I help you today?

Drew Alexander: It's Drew, I'm here in the big smoky city and security isn't allowing me on the premises...

It takes about a minute before someone walks out and tells the security guard that I'm wrestling this very weekend.

Security Guard: My apologies.

Drew Alexander: Fuck off idiot.

I walk inside, I notice a few wrestlers are around... I don't take much notice to anybody, I'm my own man. I begin walking around trying to find some food, I'm starving. Knowing I've got no cash and I've yet to be paid from my recent fights... I see the management.

Drew Alexander: Hey! Ryan... Where's my fucking pay-check?!

Ryan: I've been trying to get a hold of you, you don't have a cell-phone or a fixed address... Here.

An envelope is handed to me... I look inside and I cannot believe the amount of money that's in here. I've never seen such money like this. I guess this is the life I can live now, that money is going to do wonders for me!

Drew Alexander: Thankyou. It's about time... About me not having a cell-phone nor a fixed address, I don't think it matters. You just pay me at the end of the fight from now on, it's not that hard is it Ryan?

Ryan: I suppose so...

I pat Ryan on the back, he looks a bit uneasy...

Drew Alexander: What's wrong, you don't seem quite happy...

Ryan: I'm just praying this event goes picture perfect, it's stressful especially knowing you're the last guy to arrive for the interview.

Drew Alexander: Ah, don't you worry, I'm here now... I guess that's the weight off your shoulders now.

Ryan: I'm glad you're here... I need you to go Room 7 now.

----------------------------------------------------------------

SCENE THREE: ROOM 7

I look around... It reminds me of a freakin' political room. Like when you're watching the President address the nation. A lady tells me to stand up on the podium... I guess I might as well joke around here.

Drew Alexander: This here is a podium, it's almost like I'm at the Olympics... Ah, gold... How my dream will come true this very weekend.

Interviewer 1: I was hoping you'd take this seriously... I'd like to ask you what pursuaded you to become a wrestler?

Drew Alexander: Let's not go there... If you followed my footsteps and my story over the past month, I think you'd understand.

Interviewer 2: This weekend you take on Syn and Christopher Flair, what runs through your mind knowing you've got a 33.33% chance of winning?

Drew Alexander: 1 out of 3, let's not speak about odds. I train mentally, not pyschically because I allow my psychical self to endulge in action when needed. I try not to think too much because over-thinking is where mistakes come from. All this hype, all these camera flashing in my face. I'm not used to it, nor should I ever be... I'm a man who wants change.

Interviewer 3: What do you mean exactly by wanting change?

Drew Alexander: After everything I've been through, I see myself as a new man. When I step into that ring, there will be a difference in me... When I capture that very dream, everything changes... The world will see.

Interviewer 1: So, speak about your other hobbies outside of wrestling...

Drew Alexander: I've yet to find myself, it's been a year before I've done things I used to like and I'm not quite sure if I could ever like the things I did in the past. The past stays in the past, I'm looking into the future and as I just said... Change.

I begin walking off... I'm stopped by another interviewer.

Interviewer 4: Where are you going? We've got more questions to ask...

Drew Alexander: I apologize, I have no answers and this interview is over. Thankyou.

The cameras and people are never-ending... I walk off but everyone seems to follow me... I get back into my car and speed off.

----------------------------------------------------------------

SCENE FOUR: THE RESTAURANT...

Waitress: What would you like to order tonight?

Drew Alexander: Seeing I'm on my own and I left Paul behind... Just give me whatever, pasta... meat... whatever's good for my body. I haven't had a proper meal in some time.

Waitress: So... how hungry are you?

Drew Alexander: I could eat a cow ma'am...

The waitress laughs as she walks off... I look around me, the restaurant is quite busy. I'm seated alone before an elderly lady walks up to me...

Elderly Lady: Oh you poor young man, that lady is no good. Standing you up like this!

Drew Alexander: There is no lady.

Elderly Lady: OH! EVEN HORRENDOUS! HOW COULD YOU BE WITH A MAN!

Embarrassing enough... The rest of the people around stare at me.

Drew Alexander: I came by myself ma'am... I'm single, no girlfriend. Can't I just eat in peace?

Elderly Lady:
Maybe at a takeaway joint but here in the most expensive restaurant in the city?!

Drew Alexander: I do as I please. I don't tolerate you and your opinions... I suggest you go back to your table, eat your meal and shut your mouth!

The elderly lady slaps me across the face as she storms off... The waitress returns with my meal.

Waitress: What was that about?

Drew Alexander:
Just an old lady who hasn't taken her medication... Claimed I should have a girlfriend and shouldn't be eating here alone.

The elderly lady stares at me from across the room... The waitress looks at her.

Waitress: Ah... Yvonne... She's always here, don't worry too much. My name's Sarah and I'm surprised such a handsome man like you would be single. What do you do?

Drew Alexander: I'm a wrestler for ACW.

Sarah: Ooh! I used to love wrestling as a kid. Haven't watched or seen it for such a long time, when are you wrestling next?

Drew Alexander: Tomorrow.

Sarah: I'll let you enjoy your meal, I'll come back and give you my contact number, I'd love to go and watch you!

Sarah heads back to work as I sit and enjoy my meal, the elderly lady leaves five minutes later. I'm at peace... This is exactly what I wanted.. Sarah returns quite quickly as she slips her number and address on a piece of paper. For once... I'm finally smiling.

The scene opened up with Syn sitting with his back to a wall as he stared blankly at the iron bars that held him captive for the moment. After his little “Episode†backstage at the house show, Security had finally caught up with Syn and subdued him with a fair amount of force if the bruising along his ribcage was any indication. He had been taken down town and thrown into a cell and told that Phoenix wanted him to sit here for the night, until he calmed down enough to not go searching for Flair again. Or until it was time for the press conference, whichever came first. So Syn sat there, in relative silence, listening as the guards talked about him in not-so-quiet tones.

Guard #1: - the guy is a freakin’ psychopath! He didn’t even hesitate in swingin’ that Tire Iron at us, or his own damn boss! Who does that anyways!?!

The second guard gave him a bored look, before looking over his shoulder to glance at Syn.

Guard #2: It’s your own damn fault for not reading up on him. Don’t you know what kind of sick shit this guy has done in the last year? Him nearly killing a few guys in his first few weeks and such?

The first guard shook his head, a confused look on his face as he too glances back at the man in the Joker-Esq grease-paint.

Guard #1: Nope. I just heard about the guy when he started workin’ for ACW, and the stuff he did before hasn’t been brought up that much. Why?

The other guard shook his head as he decided to fill his co-worker in on their “Prisonerâ€.

Guard #2: It was bloody, man. I worked on security and ring detail for the promotion he debuted in, The Wrestling Kings Federation. Now, I had seen some violent things out of guys’ years ahead of this kid over the last few years, but he took the fucking cake in about three weeks into his career.

He paused as he noted that he had the other guard’s full attention and, disturbingly enough, Syn’s attention as well. He stared at Syn for a moment, before flinching away slightly as he gave him an evil grin.

Syn: Oh, no, don’t mind me, Mr. Security Guard. By all means, I would love to hear this particular set of events from the perspective of someone else.

The first guard turned towards Syn and glared at him.

Guard #1: Hey! Shut up! This doesn’t concern you!

Syn merely rose an eyebrow at the guard in amusement.

Syn: It’s a story about me, is it not? (The guard nodded) Then it does concern me. Now, please, continue. It’s been a LONG time since I’ve heard this one.

The second security guard gave Syn a look of unease as he thought about it. On one hand, his partner didn’t have a clue as to what they were dealing with, and it was his duty to rectify that situation before it could come back and bite them in the ass. On the other hand, Syn’s desire to hear about his own sick and twisted deeds was creepy. Very, very creepy. The Guard made up his mind to go through with the story; despite the feeling he got that it was a bad idea.

Guard #2: Yeah, like I said, I haven’t seen anyone do as much damage as this guy (The guard jerked his thumb in Syn’s direction, causing the man to give a mocking bow) did in such a short amount of time. The whole thing happened at the start of the show, when he and some other guy were supposed to be in a tag match. But before the match started, they were shown on the screen backstage, standing outside of a locker room. I don’t remember much of what they said, but it didn’t really matter until they opened the door. They….they fucking hung one of the guys with a metal hook in his neck and let him just hang there. He was in a bad way man, and they didn’t have a care in the world, they even made a few jokes about it!

The first guard’s eyes widened in shock as he turned to give Syn a better look, before snorting in utter disbelief.

Guard #1: No way in hell. He doesn’t look like he would be able to pull somethin’ like that that off man. I think you’re pullin’ my leg on this one.

The second guard scowled at the claim.

Guard #2: I’m not fucking kidding, man! I was there! I saw this guy hang a guy in cold blood, then 20 minutes later, throw another guy 30 feet off the damn stage setup! He’s not a normal wrestler with an overblown ego that chases after the big belt. He’s a fucking monster!

The first security guard still wasn’t buying it.

Guard #1: Still don’t believe you man.

The second guard just gave him a blank look, before continuing

Guard #2: You remember that guy? The Luchador who had that cartoon movie made for him, Beasto, or something like that?

The other guard’s eyes lit up at the name, while Syn leaned back in his cell with an evil grin slowly starting to make its way across his face.

Guard #1: El Superbeasto? That dude was badass, man! I always wondered why he up and retired though.

The second guard didn’t say anything. Instead he just sat there and waited as he stared at his partner. Syn also looked at the guard; mostly because he had the feeling he would like what happened next. He was proven right after a few moments when the guard’s eyes suddenly darted towards him, a look of shock written very clearly on his face.

Guard #1: No way. You mean –

The second guard just nodded in confirmation. Syn, feeling as though he had been silent far too long for his liking, smirked as he started speaking.

Syn: It was a particularly messy scene. I don’t recall actually doing anything overly drastic in order to put him down. Just a full force swing with an aluminum baseball bat to the throat, and he’s coughing, spitting, and hacking up blood all over the ring.

Syn paused, thinking about something else.

Syn: Funny thing about the entire situation was that he never truly held it against me for crushing his throat. He even said he respected me for it and hoped that I would “go far in this businessâ€. (Syn clicked his teeth with his tongue and gave a small shrug of his shoulders) Some people are wired in very mysterious ways, wouldn’t you agree?

Syn turned to look at the security guards, and had to hold back a maniacal grin as he noticed both were looking at him in a mixture of shock and fear. Syn chuckled at the sight, before he lay back against the wall of his cell.

Syn: Now that you’ve been educated in just how charming of an individual, I have a question of my own. (Both guards snapped out of their states and gave Syn their attention) You’ve seen firsthand what I’m capable of doing, as well as heard of it. I don’t think it should matter to either of you, but I’ll let you in on a little secret: I had nothing against any of the men whose careers I had a hand in ending. It was simply a matter of want: I wanted to end them, and they chose to try and keep going. If anything, I was thoroughly amused from them. But I want you to think on this – and don’t tell me your answers. What do you think I’m capable of doing to someone who’s managed to actually get under my skin? What horrible, horrendous actions will my mind conceive when in the ring against a person who has, for the first time in YEARS, done something that has made me loathe them with every fiber of my being?

Neither guard said anything, but the looks they had on their faces told Syn all he needed to know.

Syn: You see, in the last year, I’ve accomplished more than many people can say that they have in their entire careers. I’ve ended careers; I’ve left a trail of broken bodies and shattered dreams in my wake, all to become a World Champion. I’ve built a legacy of blood in one company, and in just a few days time, I get the chance to repeat the cycle in another company. And I aim to do just that. I plan on burning wrestling’s most renowned legacy to the ground in Flair, and getting rid of another fool in Alexander.

Syn leaned back against the wall and crossed his arms over his chest as he closed his eyes.

Syn: At Overdrive, everything burns. And I plan on being at the center of it all, watching as the ashes are blow away with the wind.

Syn seemed to fall asleep, the two severely unnerved guards watching him warily as the camera faded to black.
