Then she doesn't win the championship since the contract only guarantees Carmella the title shot. I personally think it's more likely that Carmella would cash in after the match though. WWE would never be brave enough to try something as interesting as the first option.

Technically, it only grants her the right to choose the match type and the time it happens, not that it is exclusively only a shot for her, she can theoretically put other people in the match. She would choose to make it a 3 way title match, making Alexa eligible in that moment. You're right, she'll most likely cash-in after though.

Technically it grants Carmella whatever WWE decides at the time of the cash in to grant her. They change the rules whenever they want to do so to suit their needs. So yes, they can do it exactly like I said.

Well in a world where the WWE (for whatever reason) decide that Alexa can and does win the SD Women's title while being RAW Women's champ because Carmella cashed in, what happens? (Not that this is a good idea, I bring it up because it would be Blue if it happened)

They'd either strip her of one of the titles and have her perform on one brand as the champion (probably let her choose) or try something bold and have her perform on both brands as the champion, which would be mildly interesting. They're more likely to make her give up one of the belts though, I assume.

I truly hope they don't seriously consider putting both belts on Alexa at Survivor Series...

I honestly think I would quit watching the WWE if they did that...

Speaking of Carmella...the WWE could push her BIG at Survivor Series if they truly
wanted to. They could have her pin Asuka in the elimination match & cash in and
win "A" title on the same night...and while it would be awful considering both Asuka
& Charlotte would suffer because of it...it would make up for most of the terrible
booking Carmella has suffered through since making the main roster debut.

Just for the record...Carmella hasn't won a televised singles match since May 16th
(against Naomi) and has only won 4 televised singles matches this entire year...the
other 3 being against "jobbers" all in the month of January.

Honestly...if they do have her cash in...I'd have her pin Alexa, move to RAW & then
they can put Paige, Peyton Royce & Billie Kay all on SmackDown.

That way Alexa is no longer Champion, Carmella can finally achieve something on her
own and the SmackDown women's division gets a total refresh with new performers.

Then again...this is the WWE...so Alexa will most likely hit a DDT after 5 minutes and
pin Charlotte clean...and then get the match against Ronda Rousey at Wrestlemania.

That's actually really funny...and I'm not saying they SHOULD do that...
I'm saying they COULD do that.

Frankly I think Carmella needs to actually win some matches and win
a feud or 2 before they put the belt on her...but that's just my opinion.
