The "craziness" didn't even happen overnight after the break up and even then it was a watered down version of his FCW gimmick and he wore trunks and denim jackets.

TBH a lot of people made Austin comparisons when he was in Shield and it might have benefited him a little to maybe ripoff the Texan a bit.
