That was my first time watching nxt in long time, the show hasn't lost its touch, I think Neiville is gonna go places

Kind of a middle ground episode this week.
O'Brien needs to rethink his entire approach. Back before Cameron got fired the Ascension was like a set of wild animals out to kill their opponents. O'Brien just comes off as goofy now. Like a big guy trying to be scary instead of just being scary. Victor seems to be going for a different approach with a more sinister, sneaky character but they need to sit down and talk the act through. It can be great if done so.
Breeze is fun to watch but I am just not getting the hippie character from CJ. He just annoys me with it. Okay match but wtf finish. I guess the old logic of foreign objects causing x10 0000 more damage applies in NXT as well.
Decent NXT divas match. Summer knows how to bring the heat.

1: Enzo's haircut is dope.
Enzo is one of the best talkers in this company. Enzo is boss. I guess the Realest guys are faces now. But it is a fun, organic face turn. Enzo and Cass are too fun not to like so I have no problem with it. Enzo has that Eddie G thing about him.And Sly is just a scumbag and I am a fan of Dawson's scruffy fighting redneck gimmick. Enzo is so insanely over down in Florida.
As for the match itself: Dawson is solid in the ring with a style that suits his character. And this is one of the first matches with Enzo that isn't a five minute squash. But he seems to work well as a underdog babyface. Dawson using Shawn Michaels' old finisher was cool and Rusev being in Lefort's corner looks a little odd visually but hey, Bobby Heenan had like 10+ clients and none of them fit together. I guess Rusev is getting a push as a monster character. Eastern European Umaga. The "legionnaire" is the kind of stable where the members don't need to follow one fashion style or gimmick.
Zayn has adapted to the WWE so well it is insane. Great worker, likable guy and good speaker. And Bo has taken his troll gimmick and run with it which makes him entertaining. If he is injured I guess that Zayn is going to work against Swagger to get a big win before going against Bo for the belt which is smart. Swagger's dead lift gutwrench powerbomb was a nice spot as well.
I liked how Neville got to work as a real wrestler against the much bigger O'Brien. This match worked much better than Neville vs Ambrose in my opinion (which never seemed to get out of the starting gates). This one got more time and thus got better. A nice example of speed vs strength but with Neville getting some flashes of strength in as well. Ascension is the right team to challenge the champs. They just need to tweak their characters a little as I mentioned.
I'd give this a 7. A bit too much set up. This was the first set of tapings fully without Rob Naylor work so it seems like Ryan Katz needs to find his niche, but that takes time off course. Solid episode, but too much set up work.

Not a bad episode! Loved the opening backstage thing, with Conor O'Brien being all "RAWR", holding up the bar-thing all-mean like, lightly putting it top of Corey, then roaring viciously before leaving. The character work almost salvaged how weak that looked. Almost. :haha:
It's like watching a cartoon and watching wrestling, all at once! Would say the best of both worlds but neither character really clicks, neither did this match, and probably neither does Breeze's phone. Enjoy it when Tyler Breeze leaves the building, though.
Not a bad match between Emma and Summer. NO! NOT THE BUBBLE SOLUTION! :why: You should know better! Revenge is coming, sistah. Still <3 you Emma. *pushes Lady away* "Summerslam was named after me!" lol'ed
Speaking of cartoons, who the hell cut Enzo's hair?1: Was it a cheetah on drugs? Any segment involving that guy talking automatically becomes gold. You can have him yell shit during Great Khali vs David Otunga and the segment becomes awesome. love dude going on a little tirade and instinctively yelling "SAWFT!" Dude's gotta be a face as Dust said, way too entertaining. How has Sylvester Lefort found this system to turn jobs into lots of "monay?" There's plenty of people he can contact... Ooooh, how great would it be to have this guy manage 3MB? Anywho, both guys showed a lot more than I thought they would in the match. Enzo's agility and Dawson showing some more brawling ability. Good stuff, but... Rusev?
THAT SAMI ZAYN PROMO! He kept his likable-low key ways going, and eventually picked up the intensity and remained just as awesome. Great stuff from him, shame Bo had to come out and ruin it. "They were chanting Boooooooo! The fans love me!" lololololololol. Was cool to see Zeb basically make the natural Bo heel turn official, although... Jack Swagger? Come on, throw this show some good talents! Guess it makes sense and covers for Bo's injury, but... Swagger?
Conor O'Brien is awesome. Period. Match needed more time but what we got was good, legit shocker that Neville won given the numbers advantage. A year later the Red Arrow still makes you say "wow".
