Let me start off by saying I'm glad that wrestling reviews are being revived again. It's always good to read a member's opinion of every wrestling show.
We start off with a Chris Jericho, Teddy Long, Jeff Hardy and Rey Mysterio segment. Nice way to build the main event, which is Jericho vs Hardy and if Jericho wins he gets added into the main event at Judgement Day.
Mike Knox vs R-truth
What does WWE see in Mike Knox? He has absolutely no charisma and a horrendous beard won’t help. There are better big men out there. Not to mention, he has a generic finisher. How much further does R-truth have to be buried before he gets released? He hits a finisher but Knox barely takes 2 seconds to kick up.
Michelle Mccool vs Gail Kim
The two best female wrestlers on Smackdown in a match. It has to be good right? Damn right you are. There was psychology, there was high spots and the action was at a relatively fast pace for a women’s match. I would love to see more of the two together.
John Morrison vs Charlie Haas
The hints are here. WGTT seems like they’re getting back together. My television was down so I didn’t get to see this match but I would like to see WGTT together. But please don’t put Morrison back into a tag team. He deserves to get his shot to show that he can be a face.
Edge vs CM Punk
A really good match but we all know that it will not lead to anything between the two of them. Smart way to end the match without making the current champion look weak. What we do know now is that Punk would probably not be using his MITB suitcase anytime soon. 2 weeks already and still no explanation on why he’s picking on Punk.
Another completely pointless segment between Eve and Layla that basically jus repeated what happened last week. Either way I hate this angle. Shows how much the Diva Search is worth.
Dolph Ziggler vs Great Khali
Dolph gets himself disqualified that pushes his heel heat further and yet doesn’t make either of them look weak. Personally getting a jobber like Jesse or Funaki to job to him would have made more sense, but I guess they wanted to cut down on television time.
Jeff Hardy vs Chris Jericho
The thing about this matchup was that we didn’t really know how it could have gone either way. Chris Jericho could just have easily been inserted into the main event and it would have been seamless. I love how Chris Jericho is making himself the nemesis of Smackdown where nobody likes.
Another solid Smackdown. Good matches, good plots, good buildup. I would think that right now, Raw is actually lacking Smackdown in terms of the current storyline.
