Meh, the cover is irrelevant. Hoping our surprise this year is a good game then.

it's a lot of attention for the 2k company. I'd be pissed if some bitch posted shit she wasn't supposed to, also. Even her.

You can just tell that 2K has a lot of big changes planned for the game when their idea of a major reveal is the freakin' cover star. Seriously, getting upset over something this minor is completely idiotic. You still got Rock to promote it, and if you planned to have him on Raw to promote it then chances are you already had that detailed worked out with WWE. So exactly, what is the problem with people learning earlier?

It's bad business, and this is their first year together. It says a lot about the professional relationship the WWE has with 2k.

I really can't understand how this is bad business. I don't think their sales are going to be affected by when people find out Rock is on the cover. It's not a big deal, they still have Rock promoting the game and that was the main thing about it. Conversation about the game was still generated through Stephanie announcing which is a good thing. Hell, we got four pages on it here (I don't know how, it's just the cover of the game).

I mean yeah, it doesn't show that WWE & 2K have the best understanding of each other right now (and they obviously weren't going to so early on) but I can't see the reason to throw a fit over something that isn't going to affect sales at all. As long as people know Rock is the cover star, why does it matter when they learned? It's not like some big game mode/change that you'd save for some big gaming convention like EA.

And I'm not trying to say that I don't understand why they're upset that it got revealed early. But to "freak out" over something insignificant like this is just stupid. This isn't a big deal, at all.

I'm sure it was blown up to be made "newsworthy" but all i was stating is that revealing things a company doesnt want you to in the first few months of your relationship is bad business, plain and simple. It wont effect shit for sales, but definitely takes away from what 2K wanted to please stephanies twitter fans, which is fucked up.

Oh definitely, that's why I put quotations around freak out.

Anyway, when I thought bad business, I wasn't really thinking in terms of business relationship, but even thinking that now I don't think it really applies here. It's a new relationship, a hiccup is to be expected. And since this is a minor one, it's can be easily amended for future occasions. Yeah, the practice isn't good for that, but really in this case I just don't see this a big deal at all. I'm also pretty sure it wasn't made clear to WWE that this was suppose to be a secret or at least to Stephanie. I mean just the past year THQ arranged a segment with WWE where they revealed Punk was the cover star. I don't know, I think about what variable changed, and it's not WWE so it's hard for me to place all the blame squarely on them. And no, this article never outright says WWE was well aware of this (or that at least Stephanie was). Just what 2K originally planned and that they talked to Rock's people about Rock promoting it.

Even so, it's early on, they can/will easily work this out, it's still not a big deal no matter which way I look at it.

I think 2K is pissed just because she did it without letting them know. It's their first video game under 2K and they aren't use to doing business with WWE, so they wanted it to be a huge surprise. While it is silly to freak out, at the same time I understand where they're coming from. they might think WWE are gonna keep revealing stuff without letting them know or asking, so it might put less trust in WWE when they want to have surprises. I don't really care about a game cover, but it is 2K's first time doing WWE games. It's all whatever to me anyways.
