Over the course of this event we will see both the World Prediction Championship and the Open The Prediction Championship defended. We will crown the New Japan Pro Wrestling Divisional Champion of 2020 AND we will crown THE WPC GRAND CHAMPION 2020.
There's a lot on the line and this is possibly the most unique show we've predicted on. Almost the entire card is the Super J-Cup tournament and the semi-finalists and the finalists will only be decided during the course of the show....
We have eight matches to predict on and the competitors for three of them are not yet known. As this years Super J-Cup features wrestlers from all over the World your wrestling knowledge will be tested to the limit.
So, lets talk about some of the titles on the line tonight.
First up,
The NJPW Divisional Championship
This is a very tight division with only 4 points separating the top four and a possible swing of up to 16 points [8 possible wins vs 8 possible losses], with three completely unknown matches, you have to say that this one is up for grabs.
Some details on this one:
- If Blaze ties for top place with HoHo, The EC or both, Blaze will take the title because of predicting on more NJPW matches.
- If HoHo and The EC tie for top place, we will move to the Win-Loss record of the World Prediction Rankings to decide the winner.
- If any combination of Blaze, OMB or Raidokken tie for top spot then the Win-Loss record in the World Prediction Rankings will be used to decide the winner.
Then onto tonights regularly scheduled title matches.
First of all the new Open the Prediction Gate Champion, Doom, will defend that title against King Raidokken, Jimmy King and HoHo.
Regardless of the result of that match, Doom will then progress to the nights main event to Challenge for the World Prediction Championship against the brand new, 2-time Champion, Chris!
And, as always the top 3 highest scorers at the event that do not walk away with a title will be the challengers for the Open The Prediction Gate Championship at our next show!
-THE WPC GRAND CHAMPION 2020-
We have taken nine months, 21 events and over 1500 prediction made to get here but this is it. The Big one. The most prestigious award the Wrestling Prediction World has to offer.
At the end of this event the person that tops the World Prediction Rankings will be crowned THE WPC Grand Champion 2020.
This is not a title that can be earned or defended on a single night, this is a title that ecompasses a whole calandar year of WPC Prediction Action to achieve and the winner will rightly be known as the best predictor in the wrestling world.
This is how the rankings currently stand
The two favourites are undoubtedly the reigning World Prediction Champion, Chris, and the reigning King of the Ring Raidokken. But, as mentioned in the NJPW Divisional commentary, there is a possible swing of up to 16 in the Win-Loss record here, which means that all of those currently ranked in the top five are in with a shot!
