The movie looks pretty cool but it is funny all this gossip about the world ending in 2012. If you guys do your history, the Mayans never once stated the "World was going to end" or anything like that or on the lines of Apocalypse. (spelling)
The Mayan calendar is one of the oldest calendars known to man and the most accurate from that time in history, their calendar ends on the date of December 12th 2012...it doesn't mean the world will end, it actually is said and written in their law that they didn't go any further because they could not, there is a big change in the world. It does not mean the world is going to end, just a big change.
(wait that may not have actually sounded right or have backed up my arguement... lol let me try and re-iterate myself again... >_>)
The Mayans believe that there will be a big change in December 2012, now this doesn't actually mean the world is going to come crashing down and everything will be destroyed because the Mayan's work everything in circles, now their calendar the "Long-count" calendar is actually based on a circle which keeps on moving and repeating itself, they stopped their calendar in December 2012 which everyone thinks that the world is going to end there is no more days after that date.
But it is written in their laws and historical books that the Mayans believe that it will re-do itself and the circle will begin again and rotate once more from the begining, basically meaning that we start counting again from scratch. Their calendar and believings are in a circle and basically that date is the end of the circle we had done a full 360' which is like thousands of years according to them and we will begin counting once more from the start of the circle, it all begins again. There will be tremendous change, and according to them they didn't want to go any further because they were not sure if it would go to 2013 or it would go to 1 being once again at the start of the circle of counting.
