INDIANS' PLAYOFF CHANCES

There are only two scenarios in which the Indians can make the playoffs as we head into the final three games of the regular season for both New York and Cleveland.

The Yanks lead the Tribe by two games.

SCENARIO 1

Cleveland makes the playoffs if: Detroit sweeps New York and Cleveland sweeps Toronto.

SCENARIO 2

Cleveland makes the playoffs if: New York loses two out of three to the Tigers and the Indians sweep the Blue Jays to tie NY in the AL East. If that happens, it sets up a one-game playoff between Cleveland and New York with the winner advancing to the playoffs. A coin toss to decide the location of the game was won by Cleveland. (I actually did the coin toss!)

(NOTE: All non-Indians' games are determined by a dice rolling system I created that is listed in post #12.)

Series 56 (Last series of the regular season)

(NOTE: IRL, the Indians-Blue Jays games on Friday and Saturday were postponed due to bad weather and a double-header was played on the last Sunday of the regular season.

The Yankees entered the weekend with an 85-74 record while the Tribe was 83-76.

Here are the results for the Yankee games on Friday and Saturday vs. Detroit (Results based on my dice-rolling system for non-Indians' games listed in post #12):
