Amazon's new Kindle Unlimited program has launched, enabling users access to over 600,000 e-books for a $10 monthly fee.

Kindle Unlimited is available both through Kindle devices and Amazon's Kindle reading apps. The 600,000-book range includes bestsellers, classics, reference books, and travel guides, as well as "hundreds of thousands" of Kindle exclusives.

Kindle Unlimited subscribers also receive a complimentary three-month Audible membership through the program, enabling access to 150,000 audio books (though you'll have to pay for your Audible membership after those three months, of course).

While $10 a month for unlimited reading sounds like a pretty sweet deal for the bookworms amongst us, Kindle Unlimited has faced some criticism from publishers and authors, who argue that the pricing of e-books was already too low before this subscription service came along.

This is awesome

Pretty awesome deal. Will still rather read a physical book, but quite the bargain for e-readers.

Surprised they didn't do this sooner, definitely the way to go.

Can't help but wonder how much this screw over the publishers though. Amazon are known for being pretty aggressive in the book market, this can't help.
