Yah right. It's not over rated. There's alot more to a good match than just good moves, emotion. In the 80s emotion was the thing that made so many average matches fucking great. Story telling should be of the most importance in a wrestling match and unfortunately it isn't these days.
To a blind mark Tully and Mag's I quit match, the greatest I quit match, was nothing but a bunch of kicks and punches, but it's got so much emotion, from the facials to the screaming on the mic to watching the struggle between Tully and Mag's as Mags is trying to stab Tully's head with that broken chair leg. That's just an example.
But Flair-HBK, fuck, that was ultra emotional, easily the most emotional match in WM history. Flair kicking out of two SCMs, fighting up with the tears in his eyes, fists clinched, asking for some more, not afraid to go out fighting. Then, the man many consider to be the Flair of his generation, saddened that he has to put one of his heros down apologizes for what he's about to do, tells him he loves him and does the deed. And like that, the book closes on the career of the definitive worker of an era. Everything beautiful in wrestling was on display in that match. It was a great match to boot. Definitely better than Hogan-Rock, Edge-Foley (hardcore matches are just ultra violent spot fests) and certainly better than Taker-Batista. Not calling you out XBA, those matches are top 20, well except Tist-Taker, it might be top 25. To amend my list I'd take out Angle-HBK and replace it with Flair-HBK.
