CLEVELAND—
Cleveland Police detectives are investigating a police involved shooting in Ohio City that left one man dead and sent four others to the hospital.

The shooting happened outside Club Envy on West 25th Street near Detroit just after 2 a.m. Friday.

Sgt. Sammy Morris tells Fox 8 News a man was being escorted out of the bar following an altercation.

That man got into a car with two others in front of the club.

The suspects observed the person they were arguing with inside the bar walking out.

Sgt. Morris says the driver of the car got out of the vehicle, pulled out a handgun, and began shooting.

Three people leaving the bar were shot.

The Cleveland Police Officers who were working security at the club returned fire, hitting the driver in the neck and shoulder.

The driver then got back into the car and headed southbound on West 25th, but only got about 200 feet before going off the road and crashing.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

Cleveland EMS tells Fox 8 News the three surviving shooting victims were taken to MetroHealth Medical Center in stable condition.

Police have placed the two other males in the car under arrest.
