    I think you put it perfect, it just seems like one of those movies that are supposed to be very "arty" and so people pretend that they believe it's really deep to seem more intelligent or something. My sister in fact bought this movie and said it was amazing, it just never appealed to me.

    Never watched The Notebook. Always figured it was overrated garbage though, stuff like that more then often is. Throw in a nice kiss in the rain and it gets loved. No thanks. Gosling and McAdams are both definitely talented but just from that one scene I think I can safely assume the whole movie...
