Gorilla Monsoon was also employed for life so when Tunney retired, Monsoon became the GM/President. I like Monsoon because even in his 60s, he didn't take shit from anyone... he actually started hitting Vader in the ring once -

yeah he sold a territory to WWE and the agreement was they would keep him on the payroll until he decided to retire, so they made him the "president" so Vince could pretend he wasn't the owner -
