On this date in National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) history, Clash of the Champions III: "Fall Brawl" draws 3,700 fans to the Albany Civic Center in Georgia -- along with a 5.4 rating on "The Superstation," TBS.
Headlining the event was a NWA United States Heavyweight Championship match-up...
Easily one of the best choice for the fight and it should draw in a lot of viewers. Think the goal for FOX and UFC here viewership wise has to be to top what Kimbo and EliteXC did on CBS, think the rating was around 6 million viewers. Can def see UFC beating that and the potential is there to...
If Lesnar reaction to getting caught with big punches is the same as in the Cain fight he's loosing here. His recovery and striking defense was def something he needed to work on in his time away.
Also on a side not UFC has pretty much raided the SF roster now, if they get Henderson and...
Think this fight is a toss up. Reem really hasn't been tested with a top opponent in a MMA fight, and Lesnar still has a lot to do to me more well rounded.
Here's the rumored card so far.
Main Event:
265 lbs.: UFC Heavyweight Champion Cain Velasquez vs. Junior dos Santos
Preliminary Card (May not be broadcast):
155 lbs.: Clay Guida vs. Ben Henderson
135 lbs.: Norifumi Yamamoto vs. Darren Uyenoyama
145 lbs.: Dustin Poirier vs. Pablo Garza
145...
Overeem is overrated, Brock is the better wrestler, and if it goes to the ground he wins. If it's a stand up fight it's going to come down to who can recover from talking shot. I'm going with Brock in this fight.
The last time Hughes has looked good against strong competition was the Serra fight. Since then he beat 2 guys in Gracie and Almeida who really can't be classified has top level fighters. The Penn fight obvious put doubt in my mind seeing how he got knocked out in 10 seconds. Yea I understand...
Sanchez is out with injury and Josh Koscheck is stepping in to take his place. Hughes was going to loose against Sanchez and Koscheck will take care of him easily. Jones/Rampage I think doesn't go past the second, think Page is going to be trying to finish and Jones is going to catch him.
Yea it looks really good, and nice to see a positive review so far. Being a MMA fan it's nice to see them get some exposure with a major release in theaters, probably check it out this weekend.
Yea I joined awhile ago, so I figured I'd post a thread and say hi. Mainly follow UFC now, but I've been slowly getting back into WWE so those are the sections you'll see me in.
If he's to beat up to be active in the ring, would prefer that he just stays away from that aspect, and if he's got the itch to come back he does commentary. He should stay as far away from TNA as he can, as he just won't be used right.
Yea that doesn't really make a lot of sense. If you get arrested for DWI you failed the breathalyzer, now way around it from what I understand. Be interesting to see where this all goes.
