Like the big thing was people thought we could "take control of our borders and make our own laws" and that this would make us THRIVE. Whats happened? Shortages of just about everything, skyrocketing prices and phone carriers are bringing back roaming charges :tenay

yeah but in fairness, thats because they're not the brightest lol. there's a town in wales (i forget the name) that received a shit tonne of EU funding and voted for brexit. Fact is 90% of voters had absolutely no idea what they were voting for with brexit lol. and the campaign for it was...

Nah thats not what I mean. But tougher border control could make it harder for them to move their families or friends over though. Or make it harder for them to visit i guess

but then i dont really understand why so many people are against welfare and the like though so personally im not entirely sure why people that aren't rich or at least upper middle class would vote right anyways but there we are

well they'd likely vote for less tough border control which I guess skews left. I doubt they'd either be typically right or left on majority of other policies though

Well the way it works over here is you have to register to vote before the vote takes place. Obviously if you're not a citizen this wouldnt fly. Then when you get to the voting place you give your name and they cross you off the list. Not sure how non citizens are voting there

Can see why they're uneasy if the school board are being secretive for sure lol. No idea why they'd be like that
  12. Poyser

They're moving immigrants that were already settled somewhere else to other states? Or they're putting new immigrants there?

Like I said Im not really sure what these books were being used for, educationally lmao. I dont really have an opinion on this particular subject. Its just concerning that parents who largely know nothing are getting mad over some bullshit and forcing the schools to take em out. If thats not...

That seems fine. Which is the kinda situation where I'd say parents shouldnt really be getting involved
  17. Poyser

General Chit-Chat Thread - No Spoilers

Ehhhh, maybe at an area level. If you let the local school decide their curriculum then you're really at risk from a couple of the crackpot teachers fucking up an entire school lmao. I'd say having someone in charge of education from that area (county or state or something) would make the most...
