I'm surprised no one has said Randy Orton. They had a great match at mania 21 and it really looked like Taker might lose. He's won a couple of matches against him in other ppvs and tv. Orton a much better character now and complete superstar than he was 5 years ago. Why not have another go.
Cena's a little different from Hogan. Hogan turned heel because he was stale and the fans hated him and Bischoff banked the nWo storyline on him. Worked out well.
Cena's been booed out of many, many buildings and they still kept him face until it went away and now it's back again. With...
The story has to be there. Daniels/Joe/AJ were all on the same path in 2005 and 2006. He's got the talent and some great finishing moves. I think Kurt Angle is just the guy to get him over that hump.
HBK/Taker as the last match wasn't the first time a non-title match went on last at Wrestlemania. The other was Lawrence Taylor vs. Bam Bam Bigelow. See, it wasn't as bad as I thought.
During that promo he looked like he just got laid or fucked in the ass. I still love him as a wrestler and some of his intense promos work but that was atrocious.
I think by now he has. I was so happy he was in the world title match with Joe and Aj and then had his own singles title match. He performed very well and I thought he might be going on to bigger feuds. Then comes Sean Morley who beats him,(wtf?), and now he's doing great things again in the...
^^^Agreed. AJ Styles has the kind of marketability you need in a champion. He's fit, women seem to like him, he's athletic and can be a high flyer or a mat wrestler. He's really TNA's answer to Chris Jericho.
I still enjoy TNA very much. I can't explain this week at all. I thought the show was pretty good actually. The main event was too short but I enjoyed it and thought the cage looked cool.
Still, there needs to be some big changes.
WIth Bret Hart as their manager they could really go far. This is the type of team I see being successful until they decide to split them up and one goes heel and the other face. DH Smith looks like "Vince" guy. He's huge and could be world champ some day.
Undertaker's biggest problem is following the same pattern for 5 years where he takes lave after mania, comes back late summer for some matches, has a big fued for mania, and so one. I still love the guy but it may be time to take a year and see if he still wants to do it. I think Sting bought...
Raw has always been the Triple H and Cena show so you're right about that. With Kofi, I should've been clear, he's a good candidate, as a black wrestler, to be world champion. By making him look weak against Orton, it's out the window.
It's too much like the attitude era, which was overrated to me. There's no reason for his change. If they started a storyline where everyone was questioning his sexuality and he finally "came out", it might have worked a little better.
I'm bumping here, after that I'll have to send pms...I said before that my original account from Feb 2006 was lost when the original board crashed. I never thought of asking to have stats restored but all of this made me curious. I had 20 rep and 500 posts. None of that mattered before but...
Ric Flair has the moniker of 16 time world champion. There's only 2 that are memorable to me. After he beat Harley Race in 1983, Ron Garvin in 87 and Steamboat in 89.
During all of those reigns he consistently had great matches and great feuds. So, if he was only a 3 time champion he...
The 47 minutes HIAC was boring for me. That match was an egofest. Same thing with the DX reunion. Dx vs. Spirit Squad was a ppv main event. Maybe a secondary ppv but when RVD vs. Edge, (which was a great match), goes on before that match or Kane vs. Fake Kane, you have problems.
My...
Thank god there's someone else who recognizes it.
Now, I think MVP and Kofi Kingston have what it takes. Kofi had a great feud with Orton that was booked to make Orton look stronger. Whose fault is that?
