Re: NBA Regular Season Discussion Thread
Apparently, he wants the league to go back to "how it was in the 80s." Because there were no bad teams in the 80s. He's a fucking idiot.

While I'm giving out reading materials, a great article from Matt Moore about why LeBron is an idiot re: contraction.

I don't think this would stop the league from choosing to disassociate with a franchise.
Re: NBA Regular Season Discussion Thread
I don't remember all the details of that opinion, do you have a link for that? Because I think that was just for merchandising purposes or something like that, right? And plus, each CBA is different.
Re: NBA Regular Season Discussion Thread
I'm sure some teams want other teams contracted. But it will never be in the best interests of the league to contract, because you'd be killing basketball entirely in that market. On top of that, it wouldn't mesh with Stern's stated desire to go global.
Re: NBA Regular Season Discussion Thread
Why would we be saving a Hornet team with no ownership and no direction in this hypothetical? Contract them and one other team (I nominate the Bobcats), and get down to an even 28.

IMO Shanahan in Washington = bigger fail. McNabb's never been perfect, but to misuse him like this and to go back and forth the way they have? A month ago, huge extension (with an opt out clause which they'll now obv go with). Now? Ruling him out as the starter next season already? I don't care...
Re: NBA Regular Season Discussion Thread
So Phil Jackson loves all the perks of having superstars on his team, a nice cushy schedule, all the superstar calls, all the fame and money, but he doesn't want to have to deal with playing on Christmas...
