    So they're going to go that far out of their way to get the title off Bryan, have him lose or give up his rematch, somehow make Cody the #1 contender, and then move Sheamus to Raw to face Punk (who's now feuding with Jericho). I have that right? Can I just have some money now?

    Semantics, sure. But my point's the same. Two years ago is a lifetime, and Orton/Cody could definitely work a year after Cody beat Rey at WM. Hell, put the IC title on the line and let Orton carry it for a couple of months.

    Cody's considerably more credible than he was then, and it's kayfabe feasible that he improved in the ring enough to go 1-on-1 with Orton. That, and he pretty much went even with Orton a few months ago. Orton would've been crushed by HHH in 2002-03, after all.

    You're actually stating the problem. They could have made an effort to have someone ready for this match, but instead you have the Barretts and the Zigglers of the world losing over and over again to the Randy Ortons of the world. The guys I'd legitimately put in the match over HHH right now...

    Yeah, which is more interesting: Jericho doing something unpredictable every week for a month and legitimately building suspense Undertaker coming out every week and pointing at the big word on the ceiling until HBK gets HHH to say yes to the match. Obviously Undertaker.
