That being said, I respect everyones opinions. I don't think anyone is dumb for liking AEW or anything, I've even bought AEW PPVs and tried to stream them on here. I used to watch Dynamite. Never said I dislike the product or that it doesn't have a place.
i just think we have different criteria on what "major promotion" means. I think they need to be close to the level of quality of wwe. merchandising, touring, grandeur, shows, talent, etc. they are absolutely the little brother.
how many people in america watch njpw? wwe is a global business. while njpw may be major in japan, they aren't in america (where most of the viewership is), or worldwide
I think AEW is fine. The matches are fun, and its nostalgic. Though, I hesitate to call a promotion that throws money at disgruntled talent of the top guy a major promotion
what makes AEW a "major promotion?" What is the criteria? Because they have tons of disgruntled WWE talent? Because they have one show a week on national TV? Cause then there have been major promotions forever, negating his previous point
I don't consider AEW to be a major promotion. TNA had much more (and currently, much better) talent and I didn't consider that a major promotion either.
This dude wanted the same money, less dates, creative control, and ability to work Japan. If that's what they had to do to get DB, imagine what they'd have to do to get Punk.
AEW is promising a lot to him, and I bet they do that to every wrestler. I seriously doubt, if the article is right in what they promised, that they'd be able to keep up storylines or be consistent if they're promising creative control to every talent they sign
