  • I was today years old when I realised Veer Mahan is legit the guy from Million Dollar Arm and it isn't a meme. I know they don't need to give him a Baseball gimmick, but HOW ON EARTH ARE YOU NOT TRYING TO CAPITALIZE ON THAT!? IT IS SUCH A FEEL GOOD STORY!

Very disappointing to see him as just "generic foreign brute heel"

Even if they want him to be a heel, you can bring that story up, and he can explain, "I had a dream, and they used me as an attraction. So what they made a movie about me? The audience didn't see the real ending, the one where I was removed from Baseball after they milked me dry. But I found a new dream, to hurt people. To become a Champion in WWE. Finally, I will have my happy ending, my people will see me as a hero, and those who exploited me will be sorry." A heel for realistic reasons. Not "ANTI AMERICA" but just vindictive against people who exploited him.
Looking at Twitter after YOU KNOW WHAT happened at Mania last night, yep, wrestling fans are tribalist peices of shit. Doesn't matter what company you watch.

Like genuinely, AEW diehards calling him a sellout, burning shirts, WWE stans saying "CRY AEWSEXUALS!" and treating
    Cody
as a God despite calling him every dirty name under the sun when he was with AEW. Tribalism has been a thing in wrestling arguably since the fucking territory days but social media just makes it extra toxic.

Yea... it's all a bunch of complete rubbish. It's the same type of "fandoming" as someone who announces to "boycott" their favorite team or sport, because they went political and banned something or someone or whatever. Then they shit on them, but never actually boycott them.
It's the same type of energy, that makes it all suck so bad.

Same type, but even worse. Since Politics at least to a degree affects people... This is just one wrestling company vs another. I'd argue it is even worse than when a player goes from one team to another and leaves under fishy circumstances.
The "Keith Lee is the type of person" meme is one of the more wholesome things to happen in wrestling Twitter.
