BATWOMAN CASTING ANNOUNCED
As the DC Extended Universe continues to look ahead to it's future. We can now officially unveil today just who will be tasked with bringing the character of Katherine 'Kate' Kane aka Batwoman to life. The character of Kate Kane is described as a military brat who is the daughter of military personnel Jacob Kane and Gabrielle Kane. Born into wealth as the by marriage cousin of Bruce Wayne, Kate Kane's life has been one filled with turmoil as well as tragedy. Kate of course has memorably been brought to life in the past by Ruby Rose and Wallis Day. It is said that with Ruby Rose already appearing in the DC Extended Universe as Saturna and writers eager to work with Wallis Day in another capacity, there was no call to reaudition either woman for the role. Instead this allowed very much a fresh slate with the character both in the development and also in the casting process for the role.

To say there was a high amount of interest in the role would be an understatement with many actresses expressing interest in the role. Described as the highest-profile gay superhero to appear in stories published by DC. Kate Kane's solo film is seen by many as a great step for the LGBT community with it's first gay superhero solo film. One name who expressed an early interest in the role was actress Cara Delevigne. While a high profile name who is no stranger to DC comic films with her appearance in the Suicide Squad. Reports indicate that Cara was never considered for the role. Two names who did enquire about the role but have been in fact offered different roles entirely are Mary Mouser and Millie Bobbie Brown. We know in the case of Mouser she has in fact accepted the alternate role she has been offered. On top of this we know that Evan Rachel Wood, Ariel Winter and Bella Thorne were all said to have read for the role. While two contenders were both Dominique Provost-Chalkley and Laura Bellini who were said to have gone very far in the casting process.

It can now be confirmed in what is a big get for the DC Extended Universe that Brianna Hilderbrand will be portraying the role of Kate Kane. Said to have excelled in her audition and in screen tests under the guise of Batwoman. Briana of course is no stranger to the Superhero universe having previously appeared in all three Deadpool films as Teenage Negasonic Warhead. Now we know Brianna will cross over and don the cowl for her very first solo starring role as Kate Kane!

JUSTICE LEAGUE II UPDATE! VILLAINS CONFIRMED!

justice-league-logo-design.png

As we begin to enter the next chapter of the DC extended universe's rebirth. Reviews and the critical reaction so far to the first arc has flown in far and fast. While many have praised so far the comic accuracy of the backstory and costumes as well as the tone of the revamp. Others have still voiced their displeasure at another revival or rebranding of characters. While some films like Year One, Man of Steel and Born to Run have been met with overwhelmingly positive reviews others like Introducing Wonder Woman, Green Lanterns' Light and Throne of Atlantis have been met with some criticism based on rushed plots, bloated storylines and pacing. It's been said the reaction to the first Justice League film while mostly positive has also been met with some criticism a lot of which was focused on the villain side of the equation. With some feeling that villains Despero (Chukwudi Iwuji) and Queen of Fables (Rosamund Pike) both were worthy of having their own solo runs rather than being put in a union of sorts with Starro and Paragon (Tim Griffin). Despite this overall the film did receive mostly positive reviews as it set up the future of the project well with the tease of Idris Elba's Darkseid and the surprise appearance of Sterling K Brown's Martian Manhunter.

We know that the villains in the second Justice League film will be a group known as the Intergang. Described as a highly organized crime syndicate with ties across the globe. The Intergang has been run for decades by it's leader "Boss" Moxie Mannheim. Mannheim is described as a highly connected and powerful leader who has long inspired loyalty amongst his group. However it's believed that recent health issues have caused Moxie to question his mortality and seen him look desperately for a cure. In doing so Moxie would not only relinquish some of the power and responsibility of the Intergang to his violent and deranged nephew Bruno but he'd also reach out to his business associate Morgan Edge for help. Edge being a worldly known Media mogul who has long funded the Intergang. Described as a ruthless capitalist Morgan Edge is someone who isn't afraid of making deals with the Devil to get what he wants. This is what caused him to work alongside the Mannheim family and also to employ disgraced researcher Dabney Donovan to their cause to treat Moxie. However soon a deal from an unexpected source comes along which transforms the Intergang from just an international syndicate to a global threat!

Playing the role of Moxie Mannheim will be veteran actor Andy Garcia. Garcia of course memorably appeared in the Godfather III and was a staple in the Oceans' franchise. It's said that Garcia's character of Boss Moxie will be loosely based off of the character of Terry from the Ocean's franchise. Portraying his nephew Bruno will be actor Bobby Cannavale. Cannavale is a character actor who isn't unknown to the crime genre himself appearing in the Irishman and Boardwalk Empire. It's said that it was his erratic performance in Mr. Robot however which truly sold producers on his fit as Bruno. Portraying Morgan Edge will be English actor Lennie James. While many fans of the Walking Dead will be used to Lennie in a more heroic role as Morgan. It's said that role is what sold writers on his character as they truly want Morgan to be someone with whom the audience feel they can trust only to later see the truth to. Rounding the group out will be actor Jeremy Davies best known for roles in Lost and Justified who will be playing researcher Dabney Donovan. Davies was said to be the first and only choice for this role with his chaotic energy being what drew directors to his suitability for the role.

Skeet Ulrich as Johnny Stitches

THREE NEW SPEEDSTERS JOIN THE DC EXTENDED UNIVERSE!

Continuing on The DC Extended Universe's focus on the future of it's franchise. We know that in some exciting news three new heroes will make their live action debuts for the DC Extended Universe in the third flash film. Entitled flashes of the multiverse, we know that this Flash story will see Barry Allen (Dylan O'Brien) traverse through the speed force and through several different worlds. In these worlds as we know Barry will encounter several speedsters some friendly and others not so. As we know that in this feature film, we will witness the live action debuts of characters such as The Rival, Godspeed, XS and Savitar. The three speedsters confirmed today as we know, will all prove to be valuable allies to Barry in one way or another. While reports and sources aren't entirely clear there are rumors that a series of different Speedster films have been lined up for future chapters in the DC Extended Universe.

The first hero we know and can confirm who will be making his live action debut as part of the DC Extended Universe is that of Jay Garrick. A resident of Earth Two, Jay Garrick is a founding member of a collective of heroes on his earth. Described as a publicly recognized superhero who has outed his identity to the world, the speedster is very much a veteran when it comes to be a super hero speedster. This is what will make him a valuable if not slightly stern mentor to Barry Allen. As we know in regards to the character of Jay Garrick, John Wesley Shipp was an early candidate who was discussed heavily for the role and also brought in for some consultation regarding the casting. We do know that both Tom Hanks and JK Simmons expressed interest in the role and in fact underwent some discussions while it's rumored that Mark Harmon, Nathan Fillion, Bruce Campbell and Kyyle Mclachlan all auditioned for it. However it was said that despite some strong candidates and solid auditions, no one really gave the performance or showing writers were looking for except for the person writers were using as a consultant to cast the role. This is why we can confirm that returning to the role of Jay Garrick once more and donning the Scarlet Speedster uniform once more will be John Wesley Shipp!

shipp-gif.gif

The second introduction we will have is for the character of Jesse Chambers aka Jesse Quick. A resident of Earth Three, Jesse Quick is described as a hero with a storied legacy as the child of not one but two heroes. This means unlike many of the superheroes, because of her lineage Jesse Quick is capable of more feats than just her speed as she is shown to be both extremely strong and capable of flight. It's said that Jesse Quick will at first be highly untrusting of Barry Allen and his story but will soon prove to be a loyal and strong ally. In a similar case to John Wesley Shipp, there was some small discussion of Violet Beane reprising her previous role. However we know that there was such a call of interest in this character that idea soon faded. Some names who expressed interest in the role included Brec Bassinger and Peyton List while we know for a fact that Imogen Poots and Sabrina Carpenter did audition for the role. We can confirm that taking the role of Jesse Quick, will be an actress who is no stranger to the superhero Genre in Sydney Sweeney.

The final arrival we can confirm today will be the speedster from Earth Four named Wally West. Described as a relative of Iris West from another earth in which things are a lot different than they are on Barry's earth. Wally West is described as a young hero who is still very much figuring out just what he is capable of since becoming known as Kid Flash by those in his world. Unlike the other two castings in this entry, we know that there was no real consideration of reprising this role as writers instead choice to go completely fresh with Wally and his character. Two early names who underwent some talks for the role included Colin Ford an Rudy Pankow. We know that actor Shameik Moore however was said to be the leading contender for the role until sadly scheduling conflicts led to him being ruled out. However in some exciting news, we can confirm today that Cobra Kai star Dallas Dupree Young will now be the actor tasked with bringing Wally West to life!

BLACK MANTA CASTING ANNOUNCEMENT

As we continue to look ahead to the future of the DC Extended Universe. We can confirm today that an exciting new casting announcement has been unveiled confirming one other notorious and iconic DC villain will be making his debut for this brand new iteration of the DC Extended Universe. As we know that David Hyde aka Black Manta will be coming to the DC Extended Universe as part of the third Aquaman film. Manta along with Prince Orm, is seen as one of Aquaman's most well known and established villains and it was said that the decision to hold off on Manta was a similar move to writers waiting for three movies before bringing in Joker as a means to create their own stories rather than retreading old steps. This of course is not Black Manta's first live action appearance as the character was memorably played in the past by Yahya Abdul Mateen.

While it was said the general consensus was Mateen had knocked the role out of the park and was someone writers were eager to work with again. With Yahya signing on for the Spawn spin off plus the actors noted displeasure of his experiences with the previous DCEU. A decision was made to do a full recast of the character. It is also noted that the casting process for Black Manta would prove to be very competitive and surprisingly quite troubling with several issues or false starts. One early contender for the role was Michael Jai White. As we know however, despite Michael Jai White's previous campaigns for the role. He was offered a very different role in the universe and as we know Michael has accepted what we know to be a villainous role in a future Green Lantern movie. One other name who expressed an interest in the role was Michael B Jordan, again this was someone who writers were eager to work with but due to scheduling issues it was not able to be made happen.

One name who we do know that was close to accepting the role and was for a while the first choice was actor Demetrius Grosse. As we'd learn however due to Grosse recently signing on to appear in Marvel's Wonder Man series. This created a scheduling conflict which ruled him out of the role entirely. Two other actions who we know expressed interest in the role itself and are believed to have gone to the audition process are both John David Washington and Donald Glover. Both of whom were said to have impressed in their performances and showings. With Glover's intimidating turn actually said to nearly make him the selection for the role were it not for the efforts of one other.

d19df1cbe183f9dd0c609485f9114b18.gif

We can now confirm that rising actor Trevante Rhodes has officially signed on and is cast as the villainous Black Manta. Rhodes of course is best known for his role in hit film Moonlight while also making memorable appearances in films such as Bird Box and the Predator. It is believed that there is currently also a casting call for the character of Jerry Hyde for this film also. Indicating that Aquaman III will also very much act as an origin story for the character of Black Manta.

DC Extended Universe Confirms several exciting villain castings

With the DC Extended Universe already outlined for it's next eight chapters. We know in some exciting news a batch of big villains have been confirmed to be appearing across these chapters. The villains in these reveals will all serve as leading villains in upcoming DC projects or even serve as the main characters in stories of their own. We begin with a villainous character known as Bane who will receive a five film story. Not only will this film series see three Batman films all shot closely together in a story arc but also an origin story for Bane as well as an introductory film for Jean Paul Valley/Azrael. The casting call for Bane was said to be a very small and select one. Two early candidates for the role were Javier Bardem and Edgar Ramirez. While both men were said to have had a lot of qualities that were liked, in the end the role of Bane has been awarded to martial artist and actor Marko Zaror. Zaror is no stranger to playing villainous roles having made memorable appearances in John Wick and Undisputed. It is said what really made Zaror standout for the role was his combat abilities and physical presence.

The second villain confirmed will appear in the third Wonder Woman film and this will be thee goddess known as Circe. Described as a centuries old enchantress who had long been banished to the island of Sorca. Circe is described as someone who has a massive grudge against the Amazons and she is someone who seeks out Wonder Woman seeking to destroy her. With physical capabilities capable of matching Wonder Woman and the Amazons. Circe is made more so dangerous thanks to her magical powers and capabilities. The casting process for Circe was very much said to be a highly competitive field. A few names we know to have undergone talks for the role included Christina Hendricks, Charlize Theron and Jessica Biel. It was said that for a time Jessica Biel was seen as the choice to go with until one last audition took place an it can be confirmed that Jessica Chastain will be taking the role of Circe. This will not of course be Chastain's first role in a superhero movie having previously starred in the maligned X Men Dark Phoenix. However it was her showing in the likes of It chapter two and Zero Dark Thirty which has cemented her as the right part for Circe.

The next confirmed villain to be appearing in the DC Extended Universe will be a Speedster known as August Heart aka Godspeed. Set to make his arrival as one of many speedsters who will appear in the Flash's third film. This will very much a chance to redeem the character in the eyes of many following a much maligned group of appearances in the CW's version of the flash. Described once as a former police officer who was consumed by rage and vengeance. August Heart was once described as an ally to the Flash of his world before taking this sinister turn and it would be not long after that. The casting process of Godspeed was very much a unique one in that writers knew exactly who they wanted for the role and reached out to the actor without an audition process. We can now confirm that bringing the character of Godspeed to light will be Guy Pearce who of course is no stranger to Superhero movies having appeared previously in Iron Man 3.

An intriguing addition to the movies and villains set to appear in DC films. Will be that of the story taking place in Superman III which is entitled Superman vs. The Elite. This film will be the first in the franchise not to see Superman combat the powerhouse that is Lex Luthor. As with Lex behind bars, this film will focus on a new beginning in Metropolis. However with Superman's actions, there is an alternative reaction in the rise of a group of metahumans inspired by Superman's actions but who take Superman's message and action to the extreme. The leader of the elite is a powerful telekinetic and telepath by the name of Manchester Black. Again similar to Godspeed, this was described as a very simple casting process as directors wanted an actor capable of walking the line with the portrayal of the character this is why Punisher actor Ben Barnes will bring Manchester Black to life!

One of the biggest intrigues going into Chapter V of the DC extended Universe. Is how will the DC Extended Universe incorporate Prometheus as the villain of the Third Justice League. With the second Justice League movie currently in the final stages of it's shooting. We can confirm a few more details of the villain Prometheus. In what is an amalgamation of comic bios, we know that this version of Prometheus will be named Curt Calhoun and is a man driven on a quest to Annihilate the forces of justice by any means necessary. It is said that the casting process for Prometheus was a very competitive one with the likes of Chris Pine, Oscar Isaac and Chris Pratt expressing an interest in the role. In the end however it has been decided that the Boys star Antony Starr will be the one to portray one of the Justice Leagues' biggest threats.

An exciting addition coming soon to the DC Extended Universe will be Black Lightning. With a casting announcement for Black Lightning's titular character very much on the horizon. In an exciting look ahead to that film, we can today confirm who will be bringing his main villain Tobias Whale to life. With a very memorable performance of the role in CW's Black Lightning series, it is said there was a lot of consideration in keeping Marvin Krondon Jones III in the role. However in order to breathe new life to the character it was elected to recast the character. It is said that the casting process for Tobias was very much a tough one but the role was very much designed with only one actor really in mind. We can now confirm that Fast and Furious star Vin Diesel will be potraying the villainous Tobias Whale!

Recently announced to be appearing in the fourth Superman movie. We know that Warworld and it's ruthless tyrant leader Mongul. Described as a Genghis Khan like figure known for his intelligence as well as his brutal nature. Mongul is someone who is well aware of threats to his reign and kingdom. This is what puts Superman in his crosshairs. With this being the first live action appearance of the character. We know that the DC casting directors really looked for someone capable of conveying the character of Mongul. With names such as Keith David and Joe Manganiello at one point or another considered for the voice of the role. After some deliberation we can now confirm that bringing Mongul to life will be actor Djimon Hounsou. This will not be Hounsou's first delve into the superhero genre having previously portrayed Korath in Guardians of the Galaxy and Captain Marvel.

The final villain reveal for the day will appear in Chapter Six during the ARGUS: Forever Evil spin off. Described as a villainous and predatory individual before he gained his powers. Arthur Light is described also as a cowardly individual who only likes to strike when he has the advantage. This is why he is someone that ARGUS is fully motivated to bring to a stop by any means necessary. The casting process for Doctor Light would very much see a few names considered with one early contender being Robert Downey Jr before his return to Marvel cutting this option out. Another name also considered for the role was John Travolta before finally in an audition, the writers and directors found the perfect individual to bring Doctor Light to life. Which is why we can now confirm that Doctor Light will be played by Robert Pattinson!

DC EXTENDED UNIVERSE

JUSTICE LEAGUE II: ALL PREPARED
Following an overall successful DC Chapter Two, we'd come to the end with this film which was of course the second Justice League film entitled All Prepared. This would boast an impressive cast which was more so impressive than the first. The story of course would very much continue following a lot of the plotlines and twists established throughout the second chapter while also presenting just where our heroes and characters are standing following the events of the first Justice League. We would start of course with one of the founding members of the Justice League being Bruce Wayne/Batman (Wes Bentley). Directly continuing on from the events of Year Two, we would see Bruce Wayne continuing to serve as a mentor to Dick Grayson (Dacre Montgomery). While Dick may have flourished under Bruce's mentorship and teaching it was quick to become clear that things weren't harmonious between the pair anymore. This would be voiced by Dick countless times as he questioned why Bruce would willingly align himself with someone like the Penguin (Nick Frost). As we'd see because of this decision, Dick in turn would begin to branch out on his own and go out into the streets of Gotham as his own as Robin.

Quickly we'd see his growth as he worked closely with now girlfriend Barbara Gordon (Jane Levy) who between her time as Batgirl would also help provide useful information thanks to her work with the GCPD. This would all not go unnoticed by Alfred Pennyworth (Charles Dance). Always a mentor figure to Bruce, it would be Alfred who implored Bruce to try and reach out to Dick before it would be too late. Bruce however stated that the way things stand is how they stand and he knows in time Dick will understand but that for now Bruce will not stand in his way. Continuing these reflections and how things had changed for Batman and the people around him. We'd also begin to get a special tease for another Batman spin off project as Jim Gordon (Bryan Cranston) continued to outline a undercover operation at Arkham. He would be join or in this case reunited with two colleagues Harvey Bullock (Marc Addy) and Jason Bard (Sam Claflin). During this conversation with the detectives, Gordon would mention a new wave of advanced weaponry flooding the streets and his concerns. Asking Barbara to do some further research into this, Barbara at the same time as providing her father with this would also feed the news to Batman.

The story would then transition to Metropolis as we began to focus on Clark Kent/Superman (Matt Bomer). Here we would see very much a continuation of the end of Superman 2 as Clark would tearfully be reunited with his cousin Kara Zor-El (Saorise Ronan). This emotional reunion would see Clark and Kara have a lot to catch up on and discuss but firstly they together would mourn the loss of Krypton while Kara promised to explain why she was held for so long. Wanting to help his cousin further and help her find her place on earth just like he did. Looking to keep Kara hidden until she is able to find herself in this world. Clark would first introduce Kara to his parents Jonathan (Steve Carrell) and Martha (Laura Linney). Both of whom would treat Kara like family over a meal, however we'd learn in this case knowing that Jonathan and Marta were a little older and could not raise Kara like they had Clark. The pair had instead discussed this situation with their neighbors and close personal friends Eliza (Carrie Preston) and Jeremiah (James Tupper) Danvers who were more than happy to look after Kara and give her a place on earth. Promising that he would always be here for his cousin, Clark says that he is doing this to give her the same option to have a life like he did and that he is only a call away.

After leaving Kara with the Danvers family, Clark would return to Metropolis to continue his day to day work at the Daily Planet. In the fall of Lex Luthor we would still see Lex Corp running in the grasp of Sebastian Mallory (Harry Treadaway) and Mercy Graves (Anna Kendrick). This would mean even behind bars, Lex's wishes would be continued as Mercy Graves behind the scenes would run things in a more covert manner. This would be down to mayor Dirk Armstrong (Brian F'O Bryne) now being forced to work on the straight and narrow knowing that Perry White (Jimmy Smits) held the information which could put him in prison for the longest time. At the planet as well we'd also see a noted change from Steve Lombard (Chace Crawford). While still not a fully fledged team player and still possessing many brash, obnoxious traits Lombard had shown himself more willing to work in cohesion with his colleagues and we'd also see at the same time Jimmy Olsen (Jack Qauid) had risen the ranks and was receiving some credit for his work. As we'd see along with Lois Lane (Allison Brie), that this pair would have their new big investigation as Lois Lane looked to do an expose on real estate and media tycoon Morgan Edge (Lennie James).

Cautious over their last encounters with a wealthy and powerful mogul. Perry White would urge caution for the time being. However this would not be the only thing ongoing as we'd see Clark in private confide to close friend Pete Ross (Tobey Maguire) that he was looking to propose. However being a traditionalist he would first want to discuss this matter with Lois' father Sam Lane (Clancy Brown) who unknown to Clark had began his own experimentation on Kryptonite and alien weaponry. From here we would then go to Diana Prince/Wonder Woman (Jaime Alexander). Of the heroes mentioned so far it would be Diana who was undergoing the most turmoil at this time. As having seen her life overtaken by the government organization known as Argus. Diana could not find peace in her life with having to work with the likes of Maxwell Lord (Channing Tatum) or Paula Von Gunther (Sophia Marceau). Unable to hide her disgust and displeasure at this situation, Diana's anger would actually cause her to have conflict with Steve Trevor (Josh Duhamel). While totally understanding of Diana's mindset and belief that Lord cannot be trusted, Steve after discussing with Phil Darnell (Colin Firth) that there are worse people out there and they can use ARGUS' resources to help balance the scales with the good they can do with the likes of Russell Abernathy (Nick Searcy), Dale Gunn (Mekhi Phifer), Etta Candy (Orla Brady), Isabelle Modini (Alicia Hannah-Kim) and Vanessa Kapatellis (Astrid-Berges Frisby).

On top of this Diana's life would further change as she continued to adapt to life on earth with her sister Nubia (Nicole Beharie) opting to go to Themyscira to experience life there. This would leave Diana acting as the sole mentor to Donna Troy (Ella Balinska) who was looking to figure out this entirely different world and would be aided in finding out more about this life with the help of friend Cathy Perkins (Annalisa Cochrane). As we'd see Donna would also form a friendship with Vanessa and we'd gradually see Vanessa begin to finally remember that it was Max Lord who turned her into the White Swan. While now she would be grateful to have gifts which allow her to do good, Vanessa made it clear in a later confrontation with Max Lord that she would be watching him and if he did step out of line she would be the first in line to take a shot at him. Seemingly in an attempt to build bridges or mend fences with the others. Paula would be the one who divulged a dark web which detailed alien weaponry coming in as part of multiple shipments and it would be here that we first heard of the Intergang.

With that the story would then transition to Barry Allen/The Flash (Dylan O'Brien). In one of the more happier and up beat character profiles we would see Barry preparing for one of the biggest days of his life as he prepared to marry Iris West (Shailene Woodley). With Darryl Frye (Rufus Sewell) as his best man and Hunter Zolomon (Sam Rockwell), Frank Curtis (Michael Rapaport) and Patty Spivot (Elizabeth Lail) in his Groom's Party. The wedding would be attended by the likes of Emil Hamilton (Matthew Modine), Hartley Rathaway (Andre Garfield), Manuel Lago (Peter Gadiot), Ashley Zolomon (Betty Gabriel), James Forrest (Morgan Freeman), David Singh (Jay Ali), Kristen Kramer (Kacey Rohl) and Tina McGee (Madeline Mantock). On top of this as a special guest to attend the wedding we would see Hal Jordan (John Krasinski) and Carol Ferris (Odette Annable) in attendance. This would further show the close bond between these pair of Justice League Members although as we'd learn they was not the only ones who were invited. As Bruce Wayne had personally paid for the entire ceremony without attending while both Lois an Clark as well as Diana had made the point of sending gifts.

After this wonderful day we would see Barry resume his duties both as the Flash and as a CSI for the Central City Police Department. We'd also see at Star Labs the pair of Pied Piper and Metamerican continuing to train as they looked to fully enter the field as heroes in their own right. Making suits for the group would be Paul Gambi (Bob Odenkirk) in what was a welcome return for the character. Of course it would be Gambi who first brought up alien weaponry hitting the streets and the threats it possessed. This would lead to Barry heading out into the streets following an anonymous tip off. Here he would find a bunch of sellers all stunned and knocked out while Leonard Snart (Adam Driver) stood by. Reminding one another of their agreement that the two had regarding the Rogues, Leonard Snart says that weaponry this dangerous isn't something he or his friends have any intention of being involved with. With that Barry would take the weaponry and return it to Star Labs so that the team could begin to research it and it wouldn't take long for Star Labs to also discern that it was not of this earth.

Despite appearing at Barry Allen's wedding life for Hal Jordan was anything but pleasant. Seemingly still rattled by the betrayal and exposure of Sinestro (Sean Harris). Hal would find his focus very much diverted as despite his attempts to remain dutiful to earth and honor his oath. It was tough for him to know Sinestro's true colors and that he was still in fact out there. Described by Hal as like a brother to him this betrayal would very much throw Hal off of his game but rather than let it break him or truly affect him, Hal sought to move past it and we'd see him and his relationship with Carol Ferris continuing to grow. Yet despite their blossoming romance, it seemed that Carol harbored a secret of her own. This would be a plot twist from the end of the Green Lantern movie as we'd learn that Carol was still debating the offer presented to her by the Star Sapphires. Keeping this quiet and to herself Carol would seemingly be torn by the prospect of helping Hal. While Hal would be struggling, we'd quickly be taken to OA and would see Guy Gardner (Cam Gigandet) training. Quickly differences would be shown in Guy's approach to being a Lantern as opposed to Hal. A more serious and devoted figure, Guy wasn't afraid to ask questions or opinions as he looked to garner any and all knowledge that he could. This would include his time being mentored by Kilowog (Nonzo Alonzie) and Salaak (Nick Kroll).

Searching space meanwhile constantly for Sinestro would be Tomar Re (Hank Azaria) who similar to Hal did not take Sinestro's betrayal lightly. Of course in these distractions to the Green Lantern corps as they not only looked to continue hunting for Sinestro but also took over his district. With Hal in particular distracted we'd see it was him who missed alien shipments being brought to earth. Gradually however Hal would begin to take note that things weren't quite right and it would be during a family meal with his brothers where Hal would be contacted by Hal regarding some tech that star labs had recovered. On hearing this news in an exciting bit of an unexpected crossover Appa Ali Aspa (F Murray Abraham) would appear before Star Labs and on his investigation of the weaponry not only did Appa confirm that this technology was in fact the work of aliens but he also was the first individual to use the name Apokolips as he warned Barry and Star Labs of the many stories and legends he had heard about this land. From here we'd move to Arthur Curry/Aquaman (Alexander Skarsgard). As Arthur continued to split his time between the land and the sea in the attempts to show Atlantis wasn't it's enemy. Arthur very much was looking to the future and wanting Atlantis to truly prosper.

Same time he was finally willing to honor some tradition as after sitting down with his mother Atlanna (Winona Ryder) and Ryus (Graham McTavish). We know that Arthur and Mera (Emma Stone) had finally agreed to an officially royal wedding and a date. In Arthur's time away Mera would continue to dutifully rule as Queen of Atlantis having very much earned the respect of her people. In a little further focus on how Atlantis had changed, we'd see Shellestriah (Marama Corlette) training as part of the Atlantean royal guard. Meanwhile on the land we'd see despite Arthur Curry's attempts to build and make amends with the land above. Arthur himself was shown to be more of a lone wolf when it came to his fellow Justice League Members. That's not to say however that Arthur didn't share some close bonds as he and Diana Prince were shown to be quite personable with one another based on coming from other kingdoms and being royalty. The person Arthur however truly trusted was that of John Jones/Martian Manhunter (Sterling K Brown) who Arthur truly made an effort not just to socialize with but also to seek advice from.

This would very much shift into Martian Manhunter's story. Now a lot more settled in his life with earth and in himself, John would begin his job as a police detective as part of the Middleton police department. John would work closely alongside rookie detective Diana Meade (Dakota Fanning) under the watchful eyes of captain Daryl Harding (Kelly Rowland). While this would take him away from the DEO John continued to share a close bond with Megan Morrz/Miss Martian (Naomi Scott) as it seemed that the pair were forming a healthy relationship with one another. Shown to be surprisingly one of the most social figures so far in the Justice League despite not even being human. Not only had John formed close bonds with Katherine Spencer (Daisy Ridley) and Mister Bones (Sharlto Copley) from the DEO but he'd also further acted as a mentor to Cameron Chase (Virgina Gardner) while taking it upon himself to help Till'All (Zach McGowan) find his place in this world.

It wouldn't just be outside the league that John would engage in such activities either. As firstly we'd see with his knowledge and want to learn history. John would often frequent many museums where he'd be joined by Diana who would tell him the history of such items and stories. He was also shown to have formed a close friendship with Superman based on their alien heritage and the pair would even go as far as to double date with Lois meeting Megan in a fun crossover scene. As well as his growing respectful bond with Aquaman, John's perhaps closest and most surprising relationship would be with Bruce Wayne. While Bruce may not have been one for socializing he would find someone with a sharp detective mind like himself and this led to the pair often times discussing cases with one another and sharing opinions as it was clear that a strong bond of mutual respect would begin to form between them.

From here the story would shift and very much begin to tell us of our villains for this sequel film as we started to learn the story of the criminal enterprise known as the Intergang. A consortium of combined crime families and gangs, the current head of the Intergang was Moxie Mannheim (Andy Garcia). Shown to be an intelligent and calculated individual, Moxie was very much someone who has been around the block when it comes to the criminal word, known to others as Boss Moxie, Boss was not someone whose orders and reign would come into question. Having worked his way from a mere thug to the head of this criminal enterprise, Moxie would now seemingly be looking to groom his own nephew Bruno (Bobby Cannavale) into his very spot. Of course going by Bruno's reputation he was a lot more of a different human being known for being violent and unpredictable which often at times seemingly brought the relatives into conflict. Furthering this would be Moxie's decision to branch out and align with Morgan Edge (Lennie James). Thanks to
Morgan's business connections we'd find the Intergang had very much managed to build it's portfolio and go worldwide.

Of course things had since taken a drastic and more profitable turn for the Intergang following the events of the last Justice League film. As we'd learn during Despero, Starro, Queen of Fables and Paragon's attacks. That some Apokolips alien technology used by Darkseid and his subjects to monitor the proceedings had been damaged and recovered by the Intergang. While they may not have understood the ramifications of what or who they were dealing with it wouldn't take long for Moxie to form a connection with the Apokolips as he looked to profit and gain power through this weaponry. In turn however the Intergand would now be fully under the employ and servitude of Darkseid who was not someone who you would want to upset. Now fully aware of Earth and the capabilities of it's heroes Darkseid had personally made it clear that he had a mission he was looking to uphold and that the Justice League would need to fall so he could continue. Under these threats the Intergang of course would begin to grow more aggressive not just in the sales and supplies of weaponry but also in alien enhancements.

We'd then begin to see the fall out from this aggressive expansion starting with Gotham City, we'd begin to see weapons of alien technology begin to take over the streets. His first response to this following an argument with Robin would see Batman go to the Iceberg lounge and confront the Penguin. During this confrontation Penguin would reveal that this wasn't him nor did he have any dealings in this. Reminding Batman of their deal however Penguin says that he does have some information for Batman and that is the alien technology which was being shipped out of Metropolis. From here we would be taken to Metropolis where Superman would also find himself confronted by this alien technology including weaponry which would actually manage to stun him which would greatly catch Superman off guard and make him fully aware of the severity of their situation. Diana meanwhile would join ARGUS in performing a raid on several shipments of technology this would seemingly show Diana at least for now that ARGUS could be trusted while sadly Barry found himself in trouble similar to Clark when he was hit with a blast of alien weaponry which knocked him for six. We would also see Aquaman steadily become aware of what was going on as he recovered several shipments dropped in the ocean. Making the call for the team to meet would be Hal Jordan who acknowledged that things had gotten really bad.

Steadily the Justice League would gather this time at Wayne Manor in what was a true bringing together of heroes. In this conversation in a fun tease for the future Alfred mused that the team would need to find a more subtle place to meet. The first to arrive would be John Jones who had managed to do his own research and information on the Intergang. As we'd see in comparison to the first time the Justice League gathered, this time the dynamics had changed or gotten stronger. In the case of Batman not only had he and Superman developed a much more friendly and respectful nature. But he had also developed a trusting bond with Diana while he and Aquaman shared some respect. The only member of the team Bruce did seem to clash with was Hal Jordan based on Hal's reckless and impulsive nature. Meanwhile we'd see in this conversation between the team not only were they open to discuss what they had come up against but also that Bruce and John revealed they knew that they could not do it alone. This is why Bruce had asigned people to go out and do some recruitment.

The story would then shift to Star City. Here we would see the full force of Team Arrow in the field for the very first time, as with Felicity Smoak (Alexis Knapp) behind the scenes and detective Mack Morgan/Bastion (Joseph Gordon Levitt) running point. We would see Oliver Queen/Green Arrow (Alexander Ludwig) in the field along with Laurel Lance/Black Canary (Blake Lively) and John Diggle/Sentinel (Laz Alonzo). The Trio would work together in the effort to put a stop to some weapon shipments being dropped from the Intergang to China White (Summer Glau). During this skirmish with China White's forces we would see despite being on the same team that Oliver and Laurel still could not get on the same page and this lack of cohesiveness would see some miscommunication between the pair. This would allow China White and her associate Adrien Rivers (Cassie Scerbo) to make an exit. Quickly however any argument between Laurel and Oliver would be cut short thanks to the arrival of the Flash and Green Lantern. Despite at first not being trusting of the speedster or alien, Oliver would hear them out as Barry and Hal told them about the league and also the Intergang. Looking to recruit the pair, it would be Laurel who look a step back as she said that for now she isn't ready. Oliver meanwhile would accept and would be brought to the rest of the Justice League for an introduction. Despite Oliver's brash nature rubbing many of the League in particular Barry Allen the wrong way, we'd quickly see a close bond formed between Oliver and Hal.

For Oliver's first job, he would be tasked with traveling to Midway City along with John Jones and Diana Prince. This journey would of course be to recruit a pairing that Bruce had simply labelled the Hawks. Agreeing to split up in an effort to find the pair, it would be Diana who found her footing first as she'd meet with Shiera Sanders (Alicia Vikander), the more tolerant and approachable of the Hawks, Shiera would talk with Diana as the pair discussed what the League was up against. While Shiera was willing to talk and listen to reason however Carter wasn't and on seeing John and Oliver in his town, he mistakenly saw Oliver and John as threats and would launch into an attack on the pair. While John tried to make Carter see reason, Oliver wasn't one to back down from a fight and in fact he encouraged it. This would lead to a brutal back and forth fight between the pair as while Oliver may not have had powers, he had special weaponry more than able to do damage. This was shown when he actually managed to wound Carter in the fight. As this battle got increasingly more violent not only would Diana and Shiera arrive on the scene but so would Superman in an attempt to calm things down. While Oliver and Carter seemed to calm down both would warn one another that there was unfinished business. A discussion with Shiera followed and we'd see Carter agree to become apart of the League.

In the meantime having followed Alfred's suggestion Bruce had constructed a secret sanctuary for the League to meet. As he did so however Bruce would become aware of the fact that someone was watching them. This would bring Victor Stone/Cyborg (Denzel Whittaker) into the mix as he appeared before the League and knew fully well who everyone was and what they could do. Revealing he is a construct of alien matter just like these Apokolips weapons. Despite some misgivings over Victor's age by some of the League who were concerned about putting someone of his age at risk. Batman would vouch for Victor seeing potential in him and his capabilities and Victor would quickly prove his worth as he provided a lot more information about the Intergang. While he couldn't be sure of who was supplying them, he warned them that things were getting more dangerous and extreme. We would then be introduced to Virman Vundabar (Gong Yoo), one of Darkseid's many followers who was personally tasked with dealing with the Intergang. Shown to have perhaps taken on the personality of a military strategist, Virman was very much a commanding figure who would ensure to remind the Intergang of who they served and reminded them of their place. He was shown to be very unflexible and urged for more aggrression and expansion from the Intergang much to the concern of both Moxie and Morgan.

This would include experimentation of humans. As former chemist and unscrupulous researcher Dabney Donovan (Jeremy Davies) had risen the ranks as it's lead researcher for the Intergang. With little regard for human life, one of Dabney's first subjects would be a member of Moxie's own security Albert Michaels (Steve Austin). A loyal follower of Moxie who had long suffered with a neurological disorder. The experiments which Dabney conducted on Albert would turn him into the Atomic Skull, a strong being capable of blasting powerful brainwaves through a visor over his eyes. Low level thug Johnny Stitches (Skeet Urich), who was tortured by the gang for trying to flee it would be turned into a a heavily durable individual unable to feel pain. We would also see more mercenaries outfitted with more enhanced weaponry. Seeing this danger and finding this veritable deal with the devil weighing heavily upon him, Morgan Edge would begin to question his decisions. This would cause him to reach out to Perry White as while Edge and White may have had an adversarial relationship. He know that Perry was someone who could be trusted and could be relied on. In turn Perry White thanks to his connections would set up a meeting with Morgan Edge and Maggie Sawyer (Sienna Miller) who was joined by Dan Turpin (Kevin Chapman).

With Edge willing to turn in place of an immunity agreement. He would want a full pardon and in turn he would very much act as a mole on the inside for the Intergang. His first act would be tipping off Maggie Sawyer who in turn provided The Justice League with details of the next batch of shipments and those in charge of it's collection. This would be an Intergang consigliere named Lucius Bennett (Adam Nagaitis) who answered to Intergang member Kyle Abbott (Jay Harrington). Accompanying Lucius for this would be his associate the enhanced Baroque (Edwige Ahonto). Insisting on being the one to intercept this Hal Jordan would be joined by Guy Gardner in what was Guy's first battle in the field. They would also be joined by the DEO who looked to assist in this matter and we'd quickly see Kyle Abbott would manage to make a getaway while many Intergang goons were captured by the DEO. Showing a cowardly side to himself and not willing to go in for questioning Lucius Bennett would opt to shoot himself while Baroque battled Hal Jordan and Guy Gardner. A skilled user of weapons who was shown to be an elite level marksman with any projectile or firearm Baroque would prove to be a dangerous however she would prove no match for Hal who managed to Disarm and defeat her for the DEO to take captive.

While none of those captured would prove to have much in the way of information regarding the operation. This would be a major blow to the Intergang and one which Virman Vundabar demanded repercussions. While Moxie Manheim tried to negotiate this calling this the first time they failed Virman said that the deal was always known that failure wasn't acceptable. In a shocking turn however Bruno Manheim would step forward and assert that sacrifices would be made for progress before he'd stab his own uncle in the heart. As Moxie collapsed to the floor, the more volatile and rash Bruno swore that now is the time for growth and expansion and not to be hiding anymore. With that Bruno urged to Dabney, there would be no half measures and to get his subjects in the field as he had a plan for aggression. The first attacker would be the Atomic Skull who looked to target the DEO. Here we would learn that Julia Pennyworth (Wallis Day) works closely along with the DEO and her and new colleague Carlos Alvarez (Gabriel Luna) would find themselves pinned down thanks to the powerful brainwaves. This would be until a combined attack by Wonder Woman and Cyborg took the battle to Atomic Skull, On recognizing the modifications, Cyborg had Diana hold Skull in position so he could shut down his visor. Unable to release the waves we would see Skull's head explode.
The Flash and Green Arrow meanwhile would be forced to come together despite their bad blood, they would take on a member of the Intergang known as Jackson Duggar (Rico Verhoven). Shown to have been enhanced with muscle memory thanks to his combat skills Jackson Duggar despite not having Superspeed was able to get a quick read on both Barry and Oliver. These two really struggled to gel and come together only to finally put their differences aside before defeating Jackson Duggar. Batman meanwhile would enter the fray in Gotham as thanks to a tip from Penguin he would face off with Johnny Stitches. This would be a tough fight for Batman as despite Stitches lack of skill, Stitches durability made him dangerous. This would be until in a gruesome fight scene Batman would manage to dislocate Stitches joints leaving him to be captured by the GCPD. However not everything went well for the Justice League we'd see in a shocking scene while Superman was dealing with crime in Metropolis, he'd be shot and wounded by Robert Dubois (Mehcad Brooks). A notorious freelance hitman and gun for hire Bloodsport had managed to learn what made Superman tick and he'd use a Kryptonite bullet to do so.

This would leave the Justice League without it's strongest member as Superman would retreat to the Fortress of Solitude in an effort to recover. Thankfully as Batman would reveal the bullet was a flesh wound as any more contact would have killed him. We'd see under the guidance of Martian Manhunter, Batman would take a more leadership based role while with the League seeing it's strongest fall, egos would be put aside as they'd come together. The first mission would be to find and apprehend Bloodsport, as it was when Bruce, The Hawks and Green Arrow entered the field with Cyborg's help and managed to find Dubois' location where he was taking payment from Kyle Abbott. At the very same time Morgan Edge further provided information on the Intergang including their base of operation. As the Hawks, Batman and Green Arrow faced off with Abbott and Dubois we'd see Dubois enter a fire fight with Arrow and Batman, After Arrow managed to disarm him we'd see Batman knock out Bloodsport. Abbott meanwhile in a terrifying moment would transform into a werewolf like being capable of matching the Hawks in strength. Following a length and brutal fight it would be Hawkman who managed to defeat Abbott. As police arrived on the scene and worked on containing Abbott, we'd curiously see Rick Flag (Jensen Ackles) turn up. Seemingly having a knowledge of Batman and the League, Flag would remark he is here for Dubois and without a word he would drive away taking Dubois with him.

Having provided the League with everything he knows, we would see Morgan Edge flee with his immunity agreement in tact. At the same time aware that the Intergang has fallen both Bruno Mannheim and Dabney Donovan would look to make an escape also. Only to find themselves confronted by the full force of the Justice League (minus Superman). While both Donovan and Mannheim backed up a portal would open behind them as Virman warned them that their failure would be met with consequences. Taking a stand the Justice League made it clear that they would not stand for Virman or this attack. Unimpressed with the forces standing before him, Virman would take a step back before four beings would emerge from the Portal. They would be Mad Harriet (Olivia Holt), Stompa (Valentina Shevchenko), RipRoar (Oliver Richters) and Cyborg 87 (Peter Cullen) respectfully. These powerful forces of Apokolips would quickly prove to be the most dangerous and powerful opponents the league has faced. In an attempt to further help the league Red Tornado (Chris Chalk) would stand by their side but he like many were quickly incapacitated by energy blasts from Cyborg 87. The powerful Riproar meanwhile would not only manage to knock out Aquaman but also managed to strike down Wonder Woman in a shocking show of force.

The enhanced Stompa meanwhile would capture both Bruno and Dabney before bringing them through the portal while batman would try to valiantly battle the dangerous Mad Harriet only to suffer a stab wound which caused him to fall to his knees before collapsing. While Darkseid's forces made a quick exit, The Justice League would be forced to regroup and heal following their first defeat. ARGUS and the DEO would both seemingly be shaken by this defeat also as they began to study the creatures which had appeared from another planet and wiped the floor with their heroes. However one key thing did happen in these moments and that would be that the League in review would now know the name of Darkseid. On top of this as we'd learn Batman having healed from injuries would be joined by Superman as the pair introduced the rest of the League to their new base the Hall of Justice. As the members settled in Bruce would meet with Cyborg and said he was proud of his work but understood for now what the others said about him perhaps being a bit too young. Understanding what Bruce was saying, Cyborg would nod his head while Bruce revealed that Dick Grayson had recently left Wayne Manor for Bludhaven and encouraged Cyborg to look him up. Finally in the last scene of the movie we'd be taken to Apokolips were both Dabney and Bruno met Darkseid (Idris Elba). Unimpressed with their failings, Darkseid would remind them of consequences for failure before he'd give Dabney to his torturer Desaad (Lars Mikkelsen). Bruno meanwhile Darkseid said h saw potential in and he can make him one of his. With that to close the film Bruno would kneel and utter the words for Darkseid
