WWE.com has announced that Smackdown star Scotty Goldman has been released:

World Wrestling Entertainment has come to terms on the release of SmackDown Superstar Scotty Goldman (Scott Colton) as of February 20, 2009. WWE wishes Scott the best in all future endeavors.

Goldman had been used very infrequently on WWE televsion in the past few months and hosted the WWE.com show "What's Crackin' with Scotty Goldman."

Damn, too bad, but it was predictable.

Why he wasn't on ECW with all most all the other rising stars like Punk was and now with Kidd and Bourne makes no sense at all to me. Should have done at least SOMETHING with Punk in his time there. Sucks...

Such a waste of precious talent.

They just didn't know how to use him.

Meh, I don't really care for him, he could have done something but now he hasn't I don't really care.

Also I hear a lot of good about his charisma so can someone post a really good promo or segment by him, while he was in ROH or whatever. Just so I can see why the hype for him is so great.

Its all good, I'd love to see him in NWA. I think he'd be a great addition to the roster, and could be a potential World Champion as well.

his last match was on this week smackdown...

i hope he goes back to ROH on where his craft shine...

But seriously this guy could of been better used.. such as a Feud with Santino or building his cred in ECW...

WWE drop the ball or is there more to this story as we know.. (maybe he rub some backstage people the wrong way?)

(maybe he rub some backstage people the wrong way?)

Seems that way. When they sent in the SD spoilers, they said that the Umaga/Goldman match from this week was shot twice. Rumor has it that it was shot again because Vince was unhappy with Goldman's performance.

to add onto that....

According to Pwinsider.com, Goldman was a victim of the old "creative had nothing for him" excuse. Also, some in the company, including producer Kevin Dunn were down on Goldman due to his look.

"creative had nothing for him"

I've never been able to understand this. Shouldn't the creative team, you know, CREATE something for the wrestlers?

Meh, you can't really do something for everybody. Mix that with the fact that they didn't even like the way he looked and it was obvious he was going to get fired

It's not like WWE will miss him...

Well that's the problem. The E' should have done some funny promo's with Santino with him. Or a decent ECW Slow push like Punk or Morrison had and then move
brand.

Oh and whoever said TNA above; they would just put him in a mask like Sharkboy or something.
