How many songs do you have on your Ipod and how do you group them.

I got my first Ipod about 4 months ago (Long overdue) and right now I got over 10,000 songs on it, and counting.

Here's how i break out my groups

90's Hip Hop
Club/Dance Music
Comedy (Like Dane Cook)
Current Singles
Dancehall
Detroit Music
Hip Hop Hits (mainstream hip hop)
Hip Hop Other (Anything tracks i like, that aren't a huge commercial sucess)
Motown
Old School Hip Hop
Party mix (The club bangers, and booty shakers)
Pop Music
R&B
Rock

I think i should make one more called Remixs.

As you can see I'm more into Hip Hop, but i think i have a good mix.

iPods were never anything but a dissapointment and an annoyance for me. PSP all the way... less restrictions...easier to manage.
I've got a nearly filled 30 gig iPod laying around somewhere that decided it didn't want to work for me anymore because I hooked it up to my fiance's computer to charge instead of mine. Fuck Apple and their shitty restrictive technology.

I'm the same. Fuck Apple. I have the Sony Walkman version. Granted it's only 8 gigs but that's irrelevant.

As to how I sort my music it's by album only. Mostly because I don't dl single tracks, nor do I listen to them.

When I listen to tunes I listen to the album from start to finish. Kinda OCD I guess, but I feel you get the full experience that way.

Good point....I should entitled it MP3 Player...but oh well.

I also like getting the full albums too monkey, most of my Ipod is all albums just about. However I do like playing the playlist, simply because its playing some different tracks i normally wouldn't be playing.

I mostly just seeing if anyone has more music than me and how they group it on a mp3 player out of curiousity. I'll probably have close to 11,000 songs on it after today.

Oh I never have that much. 10-12 albums at a time more or less, but that is mostly because I change it up 3-4 times a week.

Yeah i used to get about 1-2 albums a week, and just listen to it a for a week. Depending on the time of year, and how good the album was.

Hip Hop is a little different than Rock. I can listen to a old rock album almost anytime and it doesn't lose its feel. Hip hop constantly changes and what was good 10 years ago, is out of style now (depending on the artist)

I find it easier to sort your stuff with a PSP. I've got one memory card full of death metal, one for classic rock, one of grunge/90's shit...ect ect you get the point. AND...I can play games and watch movies on a screen larger than a fucking listerene strip.
I think it's pretty ridiculous people who go out and buy these 80 gig ipods. Unless you're putting tons of movies and shit on it your are NEVER going to fill that iPod up with music you enjoy. And god forbid you want to share you music with someone when you have an iPod...as soon as you hook your shit up to another computer Apple ass rapes your iPod.

Ipods were a revolution.

Nothing can top these things, not even PSP's or Walkman's.

Originally a walkmen was a tape player/radio. It was like the first portable music technology i believe. At least, the first to be very sucessful.

Correct. Their mp3 players are also called Walkmans now too.

I'm at 5,000 songs right now. But I have a lot of music videos, tv shows, and movies too. I'm on my 3rd Ipod. 1st one I had was a nano about 5 years ago. My screen started cracking and I heard stories about people's Ipod's blowing up so I thought that was happing to mine. Then up graded to the 30 gig. and my battery on that kept going dead real quick. I used it while it would charge and I killed it. Now I'm on the 80 gig.

I have about 7,000+ songs on my 30GB, but I don't really update that often. I never really group my music, so it's constantly in shuffle unless I'm dying to listen to one thing. For most of the stuff I have are full albums, but for songs that are hot on the pop radio for the week, I'll just DL it by itself.

Shuffle on the iPod.is amazing. With one song I can be listening to like Bullet for My Valentine, and right after that Krazy by Pitbull starts to play. It's not really about organization for me, if I want to listen to music, it doesn't matter what it is.

You're right, they were the first portable music devices available.

The only problem with iPod's is the fucking earphones. They're designed to break, I don't know anybody who's had a pair that've lasted a month or two without some sort of breaking, until they fall apart completely.
