- WWE released the following statement to TMZ.com in response to the incident following yesterday's RAW event in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada:

"After leaving a live event in Victoria, British Columbia on Saturday evening, Chris Jericho's car was attacked by a mob when he was stopped at a stop sign. Unable to proceed, Chris Jericho exited his car to ask the crowd to clear a path so he could continue through the intersection. A man and a woman physically and verbally assaulted Mr. Jericho. Arena and WWE security arrived to establish enough order to allow Mr. Jericho to re-enter his vehicle and depart. The local police arrived minutes later. Mr. Jericho was unharmed in the incident. The WWE is working with local authorities who are investigating the incident to identify the man and woman who fled the scene."

So me is guessing that this thing will be dropped soon.

^^^If someone spits at you, I doubt you'll want to just drive away.

I wouldn't want to. But I would. Especially if I had as much to lose as Jericho. Sometimes you just have to be the bigger man and walk away. Especially when you are dealing with a bunch of white trash fags in Cena shirts with nothing to lose.

Just Manny being Manny... Oh, I mean Jericho being Jericho.
Fuck the fan TBH.
Jericho perobably could've doen something different, and drove away, but I'm not gonna sit here and citisize him, because in the same situation, I probably would've done the same.

^^^ That's the thing though, he couldn't drive away. The fans were all over the place. Had he pulled off he would have hit them, if eh reved his engine in an attempt to scare them, he woulda been charged with running people over or threating them, he was surrounded. They could have easliy broken his window and got into his car. He had no where to go, no security, no cops, nothing.

This reminds me of the Jim Cornette shoot interview talking about his days with the midnight express and having to fight with fans just to get out of the building. It's nice to know that at least in those two fans' cases-It's still real to them damnit!

the problem is the fans should have never been allowed to get that close to the car. Its the same as those photographers that hide in bushes and follow stars onto there property. I get that you want to get close to them, but at a certain point have a little respect and back off. In my opinion security failed and Jericho was merley defending himself.

I can't fully defend him on this one cause in all honesty...he did throw a punch at a girl. She didn't sell quite as good as HBK's wife though :). But hey, people lose their tempers sometimes. I really get a kick out of how fast he dropped that guy to the ground...don't fuck with Jericho.

Well, at least she won't be jumping at any more wrestlers. Jericho did WWE a favour.

OMFG if he actually cut a promo on this tomorrow night. That'd be the greatest promo ever.
I actually think he might. Not directly perhaps, but I doubt there won't be some slight indirect references

- The altercation between WWE Superstar Chris Jericho & several fans outside of a WWE RAW house show on Saturday night has been picked up by TimesColonist.com. “One witness said she saw Jericho spit in a woman’s face after she approached his white Chevy Tahoe and castigated him for losing the heavyweight championship to John Cena.”

“With spit dripping down her face, the woman jumped on Jericho’s back and started hitting him, said Darshan Stevens, who watched from about a metre away. Jericho turned and punched her in the face, then as the woman’s boyfriend went after the 225-pound wrestler, Jericho pushed him to the ground, she said.”

The story also noted that the male fan, who was identified as Kalen Johl & the female fan who was identified as Ashley Levey were both arrested and charged with assault. Levey denied assaulting Jericho when approached.

Lol pwnt.

smh @ everyone saying they disagree with Jericho. He tried to get in his car a few times, but people were surrounding his vehicle, security wasn't doing their job. When Chris finally did try to get back into his car, the bitch rushed him and grabbed him. Jericho swung blindly (obviously in fear) and he happened to connect with the girl. He swung low, probably expecting it to be a guy, and he caught her in the chin. Then the girl's boyfriend rushed him, he had no choice but to shove that guy. If I were Jericho, I'd have locked in a Lion Tamer to teach these fuckers a lesson. Idiots man, idiots. Jericho got spit on, rushed, grabbed, hit a bitch, rushed again, shoved the bitch's bitch, yelled at security, and left. Fans always want to test the wrestlers, because as stated previously in this thread, they're too stubborn and inbred Blue (sorry if that's offensive material), and he did what he felt was best at the time, obviously not having a moment to read and react to being rushed.

I respect what Jericho did. At least he didn't stomp the bitch out and try to escalate it any further. He hit her, her boyfriend rushed him, and he shoved the guy. He could have tried to keep fighting, but he didn't. That's composure. He shouldn't be punished at all. Maybe asked to speak in a promo later in the year on why fans should stay out of physical altercations with the wrestlers, but nothing serious. And Fox News has been all over this story (not like FN is anything special anyways though).
