According to Jimmy Hart all that happens is Hogan loses the title. Also to be fair you can argue that Hogan shouldn't have been DQed as the person who caused the DQ was actually working for Giant

WCW just came up with a nonsense reason to get here, but I mean any other time if a person gets disqualified the title changes hands it doesn’t go vacant (if there’s no championship advantage) lol yeah we’ve been after that other part too. Technically he was in hogan‘s corner at the time which is why Hogan got disqualified, but again just more nonsense to get here haha
