If there was ever a defense of 1995 WCW booking it’s the Sting / Lex Luger storyline. This is so good. Lex Luger is clearly a heel following his turn at havoc and sting is still leaving with Lex Luger after refusing to stop putting on his hold on Ric Flair. Sting isn’t turning heel, but he is becoming darker and he is still staying friends with an obvious heel. This is layered storytelling and I love it.

Not only is Jimmy Hart the greatest manager of all time, but now he’s probably one of the greatest lawyers of all time. That’s some great legal loophole to get the belt onto the giant.

Of course. And what love is this guy is legitimately the Turner lawyer. I love that they would actually bring in the real people into WCW storylines.

The only problem with this storyline is, they should’ve did this before announcing the World War III because they could’ve made it out to be that they created the World War III match specifically to crown the new champion rather than announcing the event first and then declaring what the prize was after this.

WCW would also get notes not meant for them and think they need to call weapons international objects, but just roll with it once they realized the truth.

The only problem with this storyline is, they should’ve did this before announcing the World War III because they could’ve made it out to be that they created the World War III match specifically to crown the new champion rather than announcing the event first and then declaring what the prize was after this.

That would have been logical. But they could have also made the championship changing hands on a DQ known before the match too

I wanna be honest with you. I think they did it that way because they kinda have to trick Hogan into doing what they need him to do because he has ultimate creative control and if he knew that he was gonna lose the belt even by disqualification, he probably would’ve nixed it, but once the match is over with, he can’t control the storyline he only controls his matches.
